No, kidding...I do have the e-mail. She sent it to me about a week ago. I keep meaning to answer it. I think I will do so as soon as I finish this message to you.

As for original work...yes...I am planning on doing that...I am working on something currently, trying to do an hour a day. And I was debating how to keep myself motivated when fanfiction is so much more...immediately gratifying. Jan suggested using the fanfiction as a reward for my muse...and I might just do that...one hour on the original...and she's free to go play with the Doctor and Rose. ;->

Life is fairly good today. How is yours? Looking forward to the Holiday Season or empty nest all echo-y? I would think if it was you could just drive up the street and visit your former nesters. ;-> Any original work expected from your muse. Jeepers! I should...just once in a while...read my LJ friend's page.

I have kept my Spuffy hand in the game by doing beta work for Skycaia aka thisficklemob Whenever I do a chapter for her I get the urge to finish Ichnobate...but I just have a little lie down until the urge passes.

Anyway...happy holidays. My New Year's LJ Resolution is to spend more time commenting to others. My RL NYR is...work on that original work.

i was rereading previous chapters yesterday, actually, but i actually had to force myself to reread chapter 10. :[ it makes me upset, you see. :/ *sheepish*


i really liked what you said in your post about rose's ongoing place in canon. i feel exactly like you do - to have her as a quest of sorts for the doctor would be completely appropriate and would fit in with his character very nicely. that "always wait five and a half hours" reference CANNOT be in there for no reason.

i personally believe that david and billie have already filmed a reunion scene on the beach, but maybe that's just a function of me and my conspiracy theory-inclined mind. :P

I, too, believe they filmed a reunion scene on that beach. And for the exact same reason...he told her to always wait 5 and a half hours. Maybe...it was just something cute to say...but I can't help thinking she WOULD wait for him...probably more like 5 and a half days.

Also, I think it is interesting that Billie is no longer jealous of Martha but is all..."He's on the rebound...it will never last." I hope that's because she KNOWS the Doctor would never forget Rose...and not just wishful thinking.

Thanks for the reread...sorry chapter 10 makes you sad (No...wait...I'm not sorry at all...because it was supposed to be a trying chapter...big time angst and all). Tell ya what...you can skim over it if you like...get the gist.

Let me take a moment to say thank you so much for your kind words about my fiction. ;->

I am afraid I sound quite passionate when I am explaining a fruitful storyline...and a Rose/Ten reunion is/could be very fruitful for Dr. Who in my opinion. But anyway...you liked Disheveled...and you want me to "write faster" and so I will tell you that there is a chapter with the beta babes...right now!

So, I have just a few comments to make on this series of yours.

1. It has been much too long since the last update.
2. Wow umm.. heh. Love.
3. I have not read het in... like 4 years. Yours is the first het I've read in forever. I love it alot.
4. I don't think I am capable of making a whole lot of sense at the moment.

I'm absolutely adoring this. I've just finished reading up what's available, and wanted to share my thoughts. They're below, I take notes as I read.

Ch.4 "...clinging to him like a small child might cling its father as he carried her..." - not a great sentence for pron.

Ch.5 ...Wow. Time Lord Penis sounds both enticing and creepy as fuck at the same time. *laughs* Flower crotch. I don't think I'll ever be able to look at a guys penis again without picturing this and snickering. Poor future lovers of mine...

Ch.6 - Ha! The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything! I can honestly say that I never thought I'd see that in a whofic.

Ch.7 Ooo..Love the twist with Susan!

Ch.8 - Reversing the polarity always works!

Ch.15 - Aww! to the ending. Made me smile, it did. :)

Ch.17 - Love the alliteration. ::laughs:: Love the ending as well! "Oh...great" Perfect!

Ch.19 - Yay, translation for what he wrote on her shoulder! Absolutely lovely. I loved the explanation of Gallifreyan.

this story is amazing. i have read so much fanfiction, but never before have i been so captivated. this is better than most published novels. the detail and intensity is incredible. i was so absorbed in this that i sat up till 6am reading, not even noticing he sun coming up. i can't wait for the next installment.

Disheveled - question about part 20?

Hi - I've just fallen for Ten/Rose and have been scouring recommendations to find good fiction. whofic.com is insane and there's no way to filter wheat from chaff; rec pages are dodgy at best. I lucked into finding this story by random -- someone commented on someone else's lj and they had a Ten/Rose icon and I looked at their lj to see if they had tags or memories (they didn't) and then looked in their info which brought me to someone else which... I can't even remember how I got here, really. BUT. I'm here, I've read all 19 parts, and I'm DYING with love for the series. I simply cannot get over how much I'm enjoying it, and your take on Ten and Rose, and the narrative progression and loop-back, and I can't say nice enough things about this series. I'm so LUCKY I tripped over it.

I have two questions for you:

1) Do you have any favorite Ten/Rose stories I should check out?

2) This entry has links for parts 1-19, and then it says "twenty-one coming soon" - but no 20. Are we to assume that Suicide Blonde is officially part 20?

About Suicide Blonde...it is the heart of all my troubles with my writer's block. How do I include it? Do I include it? My feeling was I would do TEN's interpretation of events but truthfully...S3 kept trumping my ideas...I had him writing in his journal...then S3 did a journal episode...they also did a bit about him marrying...which I had...so I kept looking for an original angle. I have about 15 pages of what I consider tripe but my beta-babes tell me is okay.

Should I post the tripe? That is the question. Right now my left hand is injured and I can only type for a few minutes at a time and only when I save up on hand-exercises...so we are waiting. The short answer is that for NOW you can consider SB Chapter 20 but it isn't exactly "official" due to the anatomy differences...it is official strictly for the emotions and for it happening approximately that way. I may decide to skip ahead to the next part and so avoid the whole emotional tangle of Chapter 20 or I may post it.

As for recommendations, I am sadly the last person to ask about that. But are you a member of Time and Chips? They have some really grand stories if you go back to early 2006. They were infiltrated by some very nasty people once Martha arrived on the scene and the fic and overall attitude took such a downturn there that genuine Ten/Rose lovers had to find another place to post.

Anyway, enough about the kerfuffling, you came to me for recommendations and I can recommend most of the work by Chicklit and Aibhinn and Kalleah and Larielromeniel and I'm sure there are more people out there I like but I can't think of them right now.

Oh. Oh. Ohhh.

I had a friend send me this link, not even a proper rec, just as something that sounded interesting. Probably to use me as a test dummy, to be honest, because I read far more quickly than he does.

Anyway. This is lovely. Very hot. Very... real. From the first moment of Doctor-PoV, I was hooked, because you've made him wholly alien and entirely himself, and I was absolutely delighted.

I especially like how you took bits of backstory from here and there and created something entirely new from them. The Whoniverse has so much contradictory canon, quasi-canon, and pseudocanon, so it's always neat watching the pieces fall into place in a different way depending on who's writing with them.

Your Doctor... He's not my Doctor (as I think it's impossible to be a Doctor Who fan and not have your own dearly-held personal interpretation of the Doctor), but he's still, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the Doctor. And he's... brilliant. Fantastic. And all those other words that mean "really, really awesome".

Wow, this is amazingly tl;dr for what amounts, in the end, to incoherent fangirl squeeing. But the fic is so shiny... Right. Stopping now. *waves*

Thank you so much for the kind words about DISHEVELED. I do hope your friend comes to read as well. And yes, part of what I wanted to do with this story was make the Doctor completely alien. I have been a Whovian for 35 years (WHOA!) and simply adore the Doctor in all his incarnations (well...accept I wasn't very fond of Six). But falling so hard for Rose is what inspired me to write fanfic for the show.

When I went searching for Doctor Who smut, I was rather appalled to find no alien stories. There were certainly some fine fics out there but all of the ones I stumbled across featured a more or less human Doctor. All well and good for the most part...but it didn't really gel with what I knew of the character. So, I launched into Disheveled as a PWP and it sort of got away from me. ;->

I do know what you mean about my Doctor not being your Doctor. I think the wonder of the show is that it is so infinitely adaptable. This is why I may be the only completely passionate Rose/Doctor fan who feels Rose is just where she should be. Not that I think she's happy or moving on...far from it. In fact...I have the completely balmy hope that RTD will send Ten to her at the end of David Tennant's term...but, I don't think Rose should come back to the show on a permanent basis...because the SHOW shouldn't be about romance.

Romance, I feel, has it's place...and that place could easily be Pete's World as we know time moves at a different pace there than here. And I see no problem what-so-ever in a Doctor who has had a happy life with Rose and returned to our universe...sometime later. To me, it's just part of the whole. A way to create more layers for the character.

But, of course, that may not be your Doctor...nor may it be RTD's or the BBC's or whomever. So...back to the story...I am very happy to hear you find it "shiny" ;-> and you enjoyed the bits of old school canon. Once I started poking about I just kept adding on to it and having a wonderful time. The trick is not to have any of the canon, quasi-canon and faux canon out and out contradict me. So far...so good. :->

Hi, and welcome. So good to see a fan follow me to a new fandom. I do adore Ten/Rose. I loved Spuffy, too. But Ten/Rose is probably my OTP. I simply need them to be happy. And I live in fear of RTD reuniting them with tragic consequences...and yet...I believe everything is set to reunite them happily. This hiatus is the best time ever to bring Rose back into the Doctor's life for a long stretch.

We can simply let them live without documenting the day to day bliss and then when S5 begins we can have the regeneration and go forward with a new producer for the show. I hope that's what happens because it would make me believe in storytelling on television.

Still, once Jossed, twice shy. ;->

At least I'm out here making some people happy. I do hope you continue to enjoy the fic. My hope is to finish Disheveled by Christmas. Of course, to do that I have to commit to a number of things in RL as well as in fic. But it does help me to know there are people like you out there in reader-land...waiting for more.
