So, I have the time on my hands...and I have filled this time with X-MEN.

I am...all of a sudden...a Wolverine/Rogue shipper. And yes, I do know that it is terribly unfair of me to support the W/R ship when I find Spike/Dawn icky...irony thy name is Rabid...but I don't have the arm to go into that now...I am here to insult people by dissing their ships (or actually by dissing their imagination).

So, I don't know jack about X-Men comics. Or rather...I know what a librarian should know (names of characters, where to find out their specs, that it is a juggernaut for Marvel and considered the most enduring series of comics...EVER) but nothing about what happened when and why in the multitude of comics out there. I watched the movies...I thought they were okay and Jackman was sexy. But until...last week...when I was home nursing my arm and watched X2 for the third time...I didn't know that Wolverine/Rogue wasn't comic-canon. And this led me to ponder how and why people assume a ship...it's all about imagination IMltHO...

3. These couples have a relationship of some kind...but it is not romantic...the shipper must read between the lines.
4. These people have no relationship or they have one that is anti-romantic in nature...i.e. supervisor/subordinate.
5. Do you even have to ask? Take your meds!

I'm rather disappointed though that I don't qualify for need of serious medication. Then again, you didn't include Harry Potter 'ships of which many I'm sure make me certifiable, or at the very least delusional.

And just to weigh in, I like Wolverine/Rogue too.

I knew I was forgetting someone. Have added a few H/P ships to the mix. But probably you are still just delusional.

Also, your Spike/Dawn fic is one of the few I have read but I did enjoy it...so go ahead and wave your flag...as long as you acknowledge there really you would have to wank the canon prettty hard to get your way.

I'm in that class because I ship Spike/Joyce. Hell, I'll ship Spike with just about anyone.

I'm afraid I just can't get on the Rogue/Logan bandwagon because that's not Rogue. *waves the 25 year comic reader banner* Rogue is an adult in love with Remy (or in my world Magneto--see, I still ship odd couples. lolol)

But Hugh Jackman is very yummy as Logan and I did enjoy the movies--I just did the lalala thing as they smashed canon, kind of how I got through Troy, too.

I adore Spike/Joyce...but I know I am insane...

Oh, yes...my brother collected every X-Men comic from the very begining and could drone on endlessly about the twisted relationships. And I just go tra-la-la...because...there is no way I am going to read 25 years of back issues when I can have Wolverine/Rogue if I don't.

But...actually...Rogue/Wolverine COULD work...I checked the Marvel database today..both single...both wild...and already caring for each other. And she looks legal to me in several of those comic frames.

However, also...I have no 25 year baggage...so no attachments to comic-canon and no preconcieved notion of the characters. Honestly, I found Jean tragically boring. Like a product of her era of creation...the 60's female drone. I figured Jean/Wolverine was the comic-canon out of X2...but I think their best bet is to recast for Phoenix...because Anna Paquin is eating that girl alive.

When it comes to believing in Wolverine and Jean from X1 or X2...to paraphrase Jessica Rabbit...I have to believe they must just be drawn that way. ;-D

...that the movieverse Rogue isn't Rogue. I actually think she is Jubilee with Rogue powers.

But here's the thing...loads of that stuff from the comics wouldn't translate well to film anyway.

I think they are looking down the barrel of real trouble with the core fans with the Phoenix storyline (up next I assume...I haven't checked but it seems logical). There's a lake anyway...but they are already way the HELL off canon...and yet...if they bring in the alien invasion aspect as a threat to earth...it would certainly work as a movie.

I hope the movieverse continues to pair Wolverine/Rogue (in an unrequited way)...not just so you will go tralala...but because it is potentially good for the franchise to have a hot, talented couple drawing in new fans...and W/R will do that...I am living proof of it.
