This is a very interesting high fashion vid called "The Raven." It reminds me very much of some very early German or Scandinavian films I've seen. It has that creepy Gothic feel to it.

I'm going to mark this Not Work Safe against my personal judgment that it is totally fine.

There is no sex or anything, but Billie (with her back to camera) is partially nude at the beginning and I could see how it might cause comment just from being such a weird thing to watch on your work computer.

I've told the story before of the lady in Walmart with the $15,000 watch that didn't tell the right time. How she was snooty about the woman with the $30 Timex watch contradicting her about the time when "This watch costs $15,000 and it doesn't use batteries." And, I've mentioned my reaction which is that it is better to give $14,970 to your favorite charity and have a watch that tells the correct time.

However, that story now fades into insignificance in favor of this one...

I can only hope that whomever stole (or found) his watch has used the proceeds from fencing it to buy food and shelter. Or put their kids through college. I mean, I cannot imagine how anyone could be so out of touch with reality as to wear a $525,000 watch in this day and age. People are homeless and jobless.

I don't even wear a watch. There are always plenty of clocks around with the time, should you wish to know it. Also, I'm allergic to most watch materials. If I ever find myself with wealth and contemplating such an asinine move as this one...buying something glittery and pointless...I do hope someone cracks me in the back of the head and reminds me that I could make a huge difference in the life of 5 (or even 10) random families with that money...and still have an undeniably ostentatious $25,000 bauble for my troubles. My God! How could anyone bear the weight of such a thing on their wrist. This sort of extravagance makes poor Marie Antoinette look positively beneficent and much more intelligent with her offer of cake, at least cake is edible.

Apparently, the price is due to its sophisticated mechanisms. No jewels, just an extremely light, strong and accurate timepiece. Made of titanium alloy and carbon materials.

I still say...PFFT!

Though, according to one person, Nadal apparently didn't have to pay for the watch. He was given it to wear in his games to help them sell them. So...perhaps...he also felt the karmic weight of it on his wrist. Maybe that's why he lost it.
