...but this time is definitely the last time. At least until the next time some crack!spec idea occurs to me...this one is a doozy though.
Do we really need to consider any of these spoilers? I think not...but just in case...here is a cut to protect the innocent from having their brains liquified by the crackiness.
Okay...wait for it...
...wait--!
Ready?
"Grown not built!"
:opens arms wide: TADA!
:cocks head because you are all giving me rather alarmed looks:
I have NOT had too much coffee. Sixteen cups is perfect normal in some circles. Lemme sum up...
What if Donna is a TARDIS?
Linked to the Doctor's TARDIS (and so the Doctor) by those particles she was dosed with...apparently...but maybe not...maybe she's just in the growing process. Then the Bad Wolf energy can bring her into her own...and she can be full of alternative realities or something...or she could get the Doctor's hand to make another Time Lord for her.
Okay...so that's rather like Disheveled. And really, really far-fetched...but still...neat...we never think of the TARDIS, do we? Yet, it was listed as a companion in Midnight.

Date: 2008-06-28 04:30 am (UTC)What if the TARDIS gets sucked of all its energy (as it did when traveling to the parallel universe) and Donna sacrifices herself to rejuvenate it?
Or binds with the TARDIS ala Rose in PotW, but there's nobody to keep her from "burning".
I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be a TARDIS since RTD and company have made it pretty clear that the TARDIS is coral-like. I can't remember if they've confirmed it or just insinuated it, but the piece of coral on Jack's desk is supposed to be a baby/infant/zygote/whatever TARDIS. However, that doesn't mean that she couldn't end up being connected to one.
*Sixteen* cups of coffee????!!! 0_0! lol

Date: 2008-06-28 04:41 am (UTC)I know that I will get all these people that say..."Oh, canon never happened...just pretend that your fanfiction is the canon." But that's not how my brain works...because my brain is all about putting together the pieces and making a puzzle...I can't leave out a big old piece and pretend that the picture is of kittens...when it is actually a lion devouring a martyr or something.
I was thinking that the thing on Jack's desk might not be a TARDIS afterall...since that is only incidental to the plot. But I think with her name being Donna Noble...the Noble Lady...we are looking at closer to Time Lord. Also...the idea here is that the Doctor and Donna are tied together in something like a marriage. And that people are transformed...and it's something to do with breeding or a new family.
We get a hint in the preview about "children of time" and that is a reference, I think, to the Doctor's companions. This also refers back to the Diary of Impossible Things...where he writes about children and relatives...and it could be a very simple solution of changing the paradigm...and having him view the human race as his family....all his companions as his children. But I would like to have him get some rest with Rose...to feel slightly differently about her...because...well...she's always struck me as more like him than any other companion.
I think we have to logically...look at that power in Jack...and look at what Jack, Martha and Sarah Jane have done on their own. Martha is in UNIT just like Harry Sullivan. Jack is sort of the new age Brigadier. Sarah Jane is a direct bridge to the Old School Who...and I feel like maybe RTD meant to connect everything to S1 via Rose's Bad Wolf powers. All along, I've felt, as have many people...that everyone should have noticed the Bad Wolf Bay.
And Rose knowing about her powers when she confronts Daleks again, too. And the Doctor sending Rose away when he loved her so very much. I know if I was RTD I would have the wolf threatening to consume Rose if it take her again...that the Doctor sort of stop-gapped the inevitable...like he tried to do before with her...letting her have a little more of an ordinary life. Only...since I am me...I would have Donna take on the Bad Wolf transformation and free Rose and the Doctor for a life together.
