Okay...I'm teasing you all again...sorry!

Chapter 18 is back from all but one of the beta babes. I am hard at work on it and it should be up in a few days. Maybe tomorrow...not tonight unless I totally ignore my need for sleep. Meanwhile, someone asked me if I could write a summary of the story for a recs. page...and, well, I had some trouble with that...because...yeah, hard!

Any of you want to give it a try? Sum up DISHEVELED for the casual web-surfer. Something short (3 to 5 sentences) that doesn't give away plot twists but still encourages people to read? I'd appreciate any help you can give me...because within just a few short chapters...this will no longer be a WIP and I will need to sum it all up for posting to other forums and such.

Okay, summary...summary...

"When the Doctor and Rose take the next step in their relationship, there are consequences neither expected. As they struggle to communicate, connect, and understand each other, they quickly find that the path to love and happiness does not run smooth."

Or...something like that.

That I would wait patiently forever for your commentary and you needn't rush on my account. Miss Manners, however, will have to forgive me as my first reaction is..."Ooooh, comments coming from Suze!"

From a skimmer:

A fic by Rabid1st featuring the Dr. Who verse of Ten and Rose with naughty bits, fun bits, serious bits, canon and not so canon bits, great bits and plot bits too!

Okay, so I tried but I don't do summaries well. Sorry.

This one is very much in line with...

...the one I gave to [livejournal.com profile] miladyhawke it said...

CrackFic with very adult smut and sappy, romantic bits but well worth the read.

I'm leaning your way at present.

LOL

Oh, I love it. And it, also, comes as a children's book series but don't get the two mixed up.

I guess it wouldn't be good if your series was mistaken for a children's series. Although, it would provide some good anatomy/biology lessons for little tykes.

Here's a few tries. You may edit, or mix and match as you see fit.

Attempt #1

Rose has been more important to the Doctor's life than he's ever told her. He's let himself become dependent on her in a way Time Lords haven't allowed themselves since ancient times. It's time to throw away the old rules and claim her as they've both wanted. But it won't be easy because in some ways, they really are alien to one another.

--

Attempt #2

Does the Doctor believe in fate? Or does it even matter when Rose, the TARDIS and fate believe in him? The course of love never runs smooth, especially when it includes different species and different physiologies. The Doctor has finally worked up the courage to claim Rose as his. But what does Barcelona have to do with it all?

--

Attempt #3

The Oncoming Storm is ready to claim his Bad Wolf. If only it was that easy. The Doctor and Rose discover the way to inter-species intimacy is more challenging than many of the foes they've faced. Yet, as in all their adventures, the dangers are faced with humor and affection. Just ask Otter and Hamster.

Disheveled Summary

Date: 2007-03-13 02:32 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nightbeast.livejournal.com
"The last of the Time Lords is in love, and the Oncoming Storm is ready to claim his Bad Wolf. In their bid to become closer, consequences of assumptions in their inter-species relationship cause questioning of his heritage, both the old rules and the human aspects Rose has instilled throughout his life. Will it be a beautiful horizon?"

That's a damn sight harder to write that my abstracts for University work - at least in those you got to summarise the results as well! I hesitated to say 'throughout his life' but 'in his life' didn't didn't sound right, and while people who have read it will go 'Barcelona, Susan, One, Eight', new readers looking at the summary should remain with 'Nine, Ten'. Unfortunately I had to dance to the song Barcelona as a child and 'such a beautiful horizon' was my cue for a solo stint. Plus there was a storm on the horizon in 'Fear Her'.
