Ten minutes until Chris on Heroes. 9:00pm...NBC!

I hope all of you have read Disheveled Chapter 15...just up last night...and are now sitting comfortably with tea and a scone in front of your telly.

SQUEE! He looks so very hot in the tiny TVGuide pic.

Rae
off to watch

p.s. Have I mentioned that I love CE? I know I go on and on about Ten/Rose and seldom give Nine his due but I do truly think Chris is a marvelous actor and I hope his character is very long lived in the U.S. of A.!

From an interview I read, he's got something like at least 9 episodes so far, but probably longer. I could be mistaken on the exact number. And when I read this interview and discovered that he's actually been living in the US since June, I seriously squeed.

Which is lame, because he lives nowhere near me. Road trip!

Happy watching!

I hope his brief cameo in Peter's dream isn't all we see of him tonight. C'mon now...less than 20 minutes to go. I want some Eccles!

And...SQUEEE

I wonder if the poor guy is really completely invisible. That would be tragic. But then...if that were true...he wouldn't need money. OR...maybe he would...because he might need to pay rent on a place or something.

Anyway...there he was...SIGH!

Rae
wondering if the producers know just how excited they made me with this hire...I was already a fan...but now I have reason to SQUEE!

I wish we'd gotten to see more of him! (no pun intended! lol) Hopefully next week he'll play a bigger part.

I honestly can't imagine what it must be like to be invisible. I *think* he is supposed to be invisible all the time (and turns what he touches invisible - no clothes walking by themselves down the street or floating wallets), and that really would be a tragic existence. Man...

I lurve this show anyway, but now I'm even more of a fangirl! Hiro kills me every time (whooosh!).

Oh...yes...got to love Hiro

And speaking of...who knew the less interesting Petrelli brother could be funny? I loved he and Hiro and the whole "Villian" bit.

I do wonder though if Chris is invisible all the time. Because Peter seems to think Chris' character can help him control the power. It's interesting...with storyline...I can tell when a storyline is thought out. I seem to have some kind of talent for that...and this show is very well thought out so far. I was not surprised to learn they have plotted it ahead four or five seasons.

Of course, already, they are changing things up by not killing the Heroes off. I don't do spoilers...but I'd heard someone was going to die on this episode. And I was all...OH, NO! I don't want anyone to die. Truly, I love almost every character...and that's saying something.

Yeah, I'd heard that the Heroes were supposed to be killed off, too, but I'm glad they haven't gone with it. I'm not so thrilled with Greg Grunberg's character (Matt, the telepath) and I'm souring on Niki, but I'm not ready to have them killed off!

Good point about the mentor thing. Maybe he can make himself visible with severe concentration or something. Or he may just mentor Peter in how to live with your "gift". I guess we'll see!

Ah...Nathan Petrelli. Putting him together with Hiro was a great idea. He needed to lighten up a bit! ;)

I was so disappointed that little scene was all we got to see this week. Seven whole days until the next week.

I have to say, I love the show in general though. I was hooked as soon as it came out. I'm seriously crushing on Hiro. How cute is he?!

Hiro is very cute

I have to say it took me a little while to get hooked...my friends had to force me to go on...but I am so happy they did. I can always tell when a show starts getting to me...I only watch it on the night.

I was watching Prison Break...and Studio 60...but now I am down to Heroes.

Though I recorded Prison Break...Studio 60...is done. Stick a fork in it. ;->

And, also, yeah...I needed more Chris.

Never got into Prison Break. Thought Studio 60 was "meh". The only other show I'm really into right now is Rome.

Now, if Amazon would just ship out my DW S2 set sometime this week, I'd be a happy fangirl.

Prison Break was SOOOOOOOO much better last season. This year I watch it only because there's nothing else on that I'm interested in.

Yes...so much better last season

And really...it's because of the loss of Michael's sensitive genius. They mistakenly assumed we were interested in all of the other people's stories. We were interested in the other people...YES...but only as color for the core idea of Michael as this very odd person whose mind works like a swiss watch.

And his mind could easily have worked that way outside the prison as well. I liked the pill popping baddie at first because I thought Michael could definitely use a nemesis...but then it all unraveled. Teabag took over as did the official bad guys...and Michael turned into a bit of a pathetic freak.

This is what I mean about close plotting...there's no more close plotting on Prison Break...you feel like they wrote the bible for one season...and now they are making up as they go along. Unlike Heroes which I honestly feel still knows where it's going.

I had the best nite ever, cause I watched Heroes and Chris was AWESOME and then I logged on and there was a new chapter! :)

I think it's brilliant that he's moved here, because it practically guarantees that we'll be seeing more of him. :D

I saw my first episode of Heroes today. Why? Because I too am a Christopher Eccleston fan. (Apparently a lot of other people are as well. ;) My local paper was geeking out for the last couple of weeks over his appearance today.) Too bad he was only in the episode for like 2 seconds. However, he was still able to make a pretty good impression in the short time he had. Eccleston rocks, so intense.

What else did I like? Hiro. His whole adventure with the sword made me giggle. Also, that psycho blond chick looks like she'd be so much fun to play (I bet the actress loves her character).

The actress DOES love her character. Previously, she'd only been asked to play empty-headed blondes who seduce people. She went from that sort of b-level role to this amazingly complex character. And it's interesting because as a writer I'd be a bit flummoxed by Nikki...however...the Heroes people seem to still have use for her...and I really, really don't want her to die. At this point, I would have to say she DIDN'T murder those people but she knows who did. The lovely thing about her character is she is such an unreliable P.O.V. character we can never be sure what's going on with her.

Hiro is wonderful. Claire is pretty great, too. As is Peter who didn't get a fine showing for you last night as he was mostly in the hospital...but I'm so very glad he is going to be the one working with Chris. He's so...earnest and sweet...and powerful. A great character really...the feckless slacker of his over achieving family. Watching from the beginning you really learn to cuddle and coo over Peter...as he struggles to understand things.

Oh yes, Peter is definitely one of my favorites too. And Nikki/Jessica. I think she did kill those people. At least Jessica did. What I want to know is how Jessica came to basically posses her sister "from beyond the grave".

It seems they are going to be exploring Micah's abilities a bit more which I can't wait to see.

Well...that could be Jessica's ability

Date: 2007-01-23 01:47 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rabid1st.livejournal.com
Taking over people...possessing them. And in that case...Nikki might still have an ability of her own. Or maybe THAT is Nikki's ability...absorbing energy (souls...and maybe other forms of energy). That might allow her to save Peter. I notice Peter is seeing the future as well as absorbing other people's abilities. Unless someone close to him can see the future...this might be his ACTUAL innate ability.

Yes, I think their abilities might be more complex than we first realized. Like how Hiro can stop time, slow it down and also teleport around with it (one assumes he waits for the world to move or something). Maybe Nikki's ability is to be able to actually control Jessica's power. That would be interesting. Though, I like her incredible Hulk responses...the "What just happened?" part of it.

Oooo...good theory on Jessica. I think maybe Nikki's ability is super strength/speed and Jessica just knows how to tap into it through her rage. That would also explain the black-out reaction.

I really hope Peter's vision/nightmare is wrong.

Another thing that has me intrigued is the mysterious Haitian. At first he seemed totally malicious. Now he seems to have his own agenda. We've got very few characters aside from Hiro, Peter and possibly Matt (who bears an uncanny resemblance to my husband) that could be classified as purely good or evil. Many seem to be one thing then three episodes later they come up with something out of left field. Like Claire's father. Up until now, he's been ambiguous in motive but always in charge. Last night while talking to Mohinder he referred to a "they" as someone he answers to. Was that just a bluff or does he really work for someone else's interests?

Too many questions!!! LOL

Whenever I see Peter, I keep thinking Jess from Gilmore Girls. In fact, I was still calling him that while watching yesterday's episodes. (Although, I'll admit that Peter has better hair than Jess. Peter combs it, whereas Jess didn't.) ;)

get this week's entertainment weekly. they mention him in heroes and he has a nice big picture!

i like CE too. I'm huge on DT and he's my favorite doctor but i agree he is a terrific actor, i haven't seen heroes but i know where the eps are posted and i'm going to try to get caught up so i can watch him in it.

That is both a good pic and a good article...though short. Thanks for the heads up. I loved his quip about being ignored around the set because he was invisible. He's adorable. It was also good to know his character isn't going to turn into a villian. I agree that would be too typical...and I think beneath Heroes writing staff.

I have to think...since Claude* is seen laughing in the scene with Peter...that Peter is going to survive this blast thing. That maybe we are seeing things in a different order or something in the vision. I'm still impressed that Peter HAS visions. With Nikki/Jessica having absorbed into each other...and Sylar absorbing people's powers, too. I am starting to wonder if the absorbing thing may just be a common Heroes trait and so Pete and Sylar could have another talent as well.

Rae
*though I do wish they would stop making bad name puns...they admitted what I was groaning over in that EW article...it IS a reference to Claude Raines. And Nick and Jessica isn't lost on my either.

OK, I've gotta bookmark it and I'm going to settle in tomorrow after work and have a good read. This is great news!

Missed you about...but figured...

...you were hard at work on your newest. If anyone can appreciate how distracting it is to read other works with the same characters...it's me. I'm unbelievably grateful that so many fantastic writers don't have the same quirks I do about that and can actually read my work.

My mind has this way of taking in any scenario and beginning to build on it. If I'm not working out my own scenarios...that's all well and good...I can poke other people's work and look under it like it was a piece of long-undisturbed furniture...or I can just go along for the ride. But if I am working on the same premise...I find myself going...oh, wait...and wanting to patch the new ideas I'm generating into something...and that's mighty distracting.

You can see in my backstory essay how that part of my brain works...I just take all these little scraps and shuffle them into a coherent whole...and I need to make very sure I'm only using select canon scraps and not something I just read somewhere...fanon or an interview or whatever. I suppose it would be different if I always wrote my core ideas out like the history essay but I don't do it that way, generally...I keep it all in my head and just do my best not to muddle it up.

Writers with outlines impress me. I am very much a patchwork type. Write the beginning, the end and the interesting bits and then stitch them together. ;->

He really really is. I mean, David Tennent's Doctor (yeah, I'm probably spelling everyone's names wrong. It's early. Ish.) is so fun and cute and bouncy and crazy...but 9 was just...
I, too, was incredibly excited to find out about him joining the Heroes cast. Although I was sad that we hardly saw him in the new episode.
