Nice work, Rae.

My favorite moments:
I like how you juxtapose the infamous scenes from KLG and the more recent footage from Home. And you held the Baltar on top of Kara scene for so damn long... was that on purpose? because it works, it really does. You make up for it later, though, with a long shot of Kara/Lee from the same scene ;) Love the bit where you focus on Kara's face during the ball scene and cut to (presumable) memories of KLG.

OK, there's a line 'when the day is all but ended' at about 1:10 and there's Kara walking through the corridor and there's red light behind her. And the red light reminds of red dawn (omg, not the movie! no pun intended here).

'You will not be lonely' and the shot of Anders+Helo dragging Kara out - interesting how it's not Lee. And then the contrast between Kara's frightened expression and the line 'you will not be afraid'. Good stuff.

'When the fog has finally lifted...' ball scene and the earlier confrontation from Home is quite effective, too.

The cut to Kara's frustrated face after Baltar sex during the 'No, I will not let you down' (around 2:49) works very well, but this is also where I started wondering about POVs. For example, is this Kara letting Lee down, or the other way around or both? And it's followed by scenes at 2:53 (the arrow scene, and at 3:00 (Starbuck on the intercom and Lee smiling), both of which I read as from Lee's POV, but of course, I may be ovethinking it. I'd love to know what you think.

I really enjoyed the sequence at 'Now comes the night' with shots of Lee and Kara running through the forest (and separately, too) intercut with the hot pilot sex. It puts a big grin on my face, I don't even know why.

There's a gorgeous clip of Kara kind of stepping towards Lee around 3:28, almost like a dance step. It's perfectly timed to the music and it's incredibly hypnotic (and underlines the feline fluidity in Kara's movements). Btw, I checked the comments at beyond_insane and it looks like literarylemming pointed out this same clip. And here I am, feeling like I invented a bicycle of something.

Eee, and you picked my favorite shot of Lee walking away.

I've said it before...and I will probably say it again: You give stellar feedback.

Seriously making me think about my own creative process here...let's see...

Yes, I wanted to linger on Baltar so that later I could linger on Kara/Lee in counterpoint. And if I had more clips I might have used a different one for the "will not let you down" part later because I feel I overplay the point there.

The red sunset was on purpose...the slide (you and Lemming enjoyed) was also...for the cat-like Kara sensuality. It was to give the viewer the warm fuzzy of seeing the connection between Lee/Kara was real. The Ander's rescue...with "will not be afraid" was to set a little Lee view of her (before and after). Before he sees her as never alone, never afraid...but now he knows she can be both afraid and alone while being brave and having her "friend's with benefits" rushing to the rescue.

As for P.O.V., in my mind as I worked it was all shifty...because...my overall plan was that K/L were having make-up sex in the "Now, Comes the Night" moment and thinking about how they've let each other down in the past. The running makes you smile (I hope) because you get that frantic sense of rushing toward something...like a deeper connection...or mutual orgasm ;-D.

However, the scene cuts you mention with P.O.V as Kara's could, on reflection, be confusing...because the majority of the voice on the vid can be considered Lee narration.

I wanted to show in "let you down" that...a) she understood she had let him down (with the Baltar) and she won't do it again...b) she hadn't let anyone down with the arrow fetching...having heroically returned and c) Lee was about to let her down in the same scene with his (bringing in the trash) comment...so we slide back to Lee P.O.V.

Though...in the Baltar scene (beauty is forgotten)...I think I have a little bit of both Baltar and Kara P.O.V. because what I am saying is they both end up looking less than lovely in that moment because she didn't even care that it was HIM she was sleeping with...could have been masturbatory.

Does that make sense?

Anyway...so glad you were able to see the vid and enjoyed it. My favorite moment was, as I told Lemming elsewhere...the casual, distancing clip from the towel scene where it looks like they are both fastening their pants after sex. The similar sharp movements and the distance between them in the scene speak of the emotional misunderstandings that I wanted to sweep aside with the later connection.

Ah, the best vids not just recap what we see on the show, but knit an original story. It will be great fun to rewatch the vid having read the author's take on it. And I'll watch for Lee's POV, too.

And yes, the way they shot the pre-towel scene does remind me of something post-coital.
