...I insinuated that as part of my job I played network executive and chose what my little corner of America would be reading. And it came to me, quite suddenly, that I was limiting my scope. Why stop with my library when I have this handy forum to influence the reading public?

And so...here are a few choice morsels for my reading readers...

Fans of Nevada Barr or Robert Parker might enjoy up and coming mystery writer C.J. Box...start with "Open Season."

Fans of Asimov or Heinlein might consider Canadian Author extraordinaire Robert J. Sawyer. Sawyer writes SciFi in the old style. He explores the human experience by creating truly rich and wonderful alternative worlds.

If you like Christian Fiction check out Dee Henderson's series "True Valor", etc.

Fans of Janet Evanovich...for the fun and frolic rather than the mystery aspect...might like Jennifer Crusie's "Faking It."

And regency romance readers of the Patricia Veryan ilk might enjoy Elizabeth Thornton.

That is all for now...go forth and read.

'Faking It' rocks, as does its predecessor, 'Welcome to Temptation'. I adore Jennifer Crusie's heroines -- they're flawed and often flailing, but without being selfish or unlikeable. I wish I saw more women portrayed that way in fiction.

Thanks for the second thumb's up D.P. and yes, I debated telling people to start with WTT but I read it second and it didn't really matter...it may be a little looser dramatically...but as you note...'Faking It' rocks.

I, too, feel that more women should be portrayed that way. It is rare to find HUMAN's in FICTION anyway. And as a matter of fact, I use an audio version of 'Faking It' as my prep when I am writing Sweet Spot AU...because that is the tone I want the story to have...two strong women...slightly naughty and imperfect but still sexy and fun and able to change. Flawed, flailing but ultimately lovable heroines need to be both created and celebrated in fiction...and again let me say how sorry I am that Buffy didn't turn out that way in RL(or RtvL).
