Preparing to say Goodbye to Facebook

Hello again, everyone!

I have not posted here in a very long time.

I remember LiveJournal quite fondly though and often lamented our mass exodus to Facebook and Twitter.

Now that Twitter is gone and Facebook has made it clear that they only wish to exploit, censor and manipulate their users for their own ends, I feel it is time to return to Open Source simplicity.

Therefore, I shall try to entice assorted friends back to this format for the time being.

Hopefully this will work as incentive to get me to remember to check here more often. I always mean to, but then never seem to do it for more than a few days at a time.

I am the same, Fen! But really the AI situation in the hands of Trumpists is making me look for alternative ways to stay in touch with my FList if things get worse. So, it makes sense to have back up communications. I think I will also look into a paid email listing, like Protonmail.

It is funny because just a day or so before the Signal fiasco, someone recommended Signal to me as an alternative messenger service.

I just like to keep myself alive on the Internets in some fashion.

Maybe we will start a Dreamwidth Renaissance.
