Jane did write 'Storyteller'. But I loved that episode ... it was one of the few I did like in season 7. And I adore Andrew.
But YAY! someone else doesn't like Spike/Xander. Some of the fabbo fic writers can make me like their own take on it, through the sheer power of their writing, but as soon as I escape their hypnotic clutches I'm all "EWWW get your nasty boy off my vampire."
...I am meeting her at Writercon and I don't want her to be aware of the loathing. However, to be fair...as I said...I hate Storyteller for what it stood for rather than for some intrinsic stinkiness.
If Storyteller had aired about 4 episodes sooner...I might have enjoyed it. I hated Andrew because he wasted valuable screen time being all spazzy and supposedly cute. People love Andrew but to me he is mostly a sad reminder of how far the show had fallen from the days when bad guys truly were endearing.
Storyteller aired just at the point where we should have had some hair-raising revelation...(ala Ichnobate...if I ever finish it)...and I knew that Joss and Company had NOTHING. It was like seeing Gone with the Wind suddenly morph into Gossie and Ollie Have a Sleepover. I knew to the tips of my toes that the ending was going to be a rushed and slap-dash excuse for plotting because there just wasn't enough time to finish it well. And lo-and-behold...so it was written...so it was done.
I would have changed Where the Wild things are (replace Riley with Spike ( I think Nautibitz did that)) and The Girl in Question, No Immortal because it's a stupid character. Not to mention that they've said the episode was written with plausible deniabilty. I have 2 problems with that statement , 1: They aired it too late for deniability to be in canon and 2. why air the stupid thing in the first place , then!

Well...don't tell Jane I spit on it, then...
