Okay, this is what I meant to say re: Clara...from an IGN article on the finale...
"Which brings us onto the true big reveal, and Clara finally living up to her Impossible Girl tag. If you managed to guess her secret pre-episode than you're a cleverer (and likely more psychic) man than me – but for what is ultimately a pretty perplexing concept (Timelord death energy causes a rip in the space-time continuum that's exploited by a madman who uses it to rewrite history before a companion sacrifices herself and splinters herself across the timestream to save the day), the execution was surprisingly simple – and satisfying – to follow."
Here is the article link... http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/19/doctor-who-the-name-of-the-doctor-review
The article then goes on to say that this was the most satisfying finale in years. I bristled at this, then I remembered that I recently ranked Parting of the Ways as the best finale. So...yeah...that would be YEARS ago. Certainly this one was better than Moff's other two...or JE...or End of Time...so...okay, I will stop bristling.

And another thing I've been of a mind to of late – I have never been wholly convinced that the Ten left with Rose was the "cloned" version.

Date: 2013-05-29 04:54 pm (UTC)we share some head canon it seems, although I admit mine varies depending on my mood, lol.

Date: 2013-05-30 01:39 am (UTC)The two main reasons that Ten didn't go to Rose are...1) RTD couldn't/dared not present the idea that Moff immediately presented of the Doctor as a sexual being and 2) RTD and DT had decided to do 4 specials and for whatever reason, they didn't want to explore the concept of Ten2 for those...though he would have worked much, much better, in my opinion.
I mean...how silly does RTD's failure to have Ten admit his love look now that River is in the picture, with her sexual innuendo every couple of minutes?
Rae
who can't explain RTD not knowing that it was okay to do these things, and so must imagine RTD just lost his creativity entirely in the end...burnout perhaps.

Date: 2013-05-29 04:49 pm (UTC)is that so? hmm.....that must be why it had one of the lowest viewing figures for a finale in years too then huh? lol

Date: 2013-05-30 01:33 am (UTC)No JE...takes us back to Martha...and the great reset of RTD's run. And, okay, fine, it's his only reset...if you don't count towing the Earth home with the TARDIS...and he wanted to decimate the world...and he did. But, I fault that one the same way I fault Moff's timey-wimey BS...so...now we are at Doomsday. As I say...best finale in years...but that's not saying very much.
