Christopher Titus is a comedian and he can be very politically incorrect, which makes him hard to listen to sometimes. But I like him, because he obviously comes from where I come from, his mentally ill mother killed one of her husbands ("...the last one, because you don't get another one after that") and his dad was an abusive, casually racist, red-neck alcoholic. And Christopher had the same reaction I had to that environment: "What the HELL is wrong with you people?"

Asking that question, about your family of origin, allows you the freedom to break away into your own society. If frees you to ask the same question of the world at large. How can people do these things to one another (see my last post). And, it does give you a sense of humor about some very dark subjects. Here is a clip from Christopher's latest show where he talks about the need for revolution in our society and why it isn't happening:

And, just because I too want to apologize, one of his best bits ever..."On behalf of Whitey I apologize..." where he starts out saying how sincerely sorry he is about slavery (in a different clip) and segues into everything horrible in the history of U.S. race relations.

Christopher Titus is one of my family's favorite comedians because his dysfunction makes OURS look minuscule! LOVE HIM!

Me, too. I admire his spirit. He's not a gentle soul, but he is kindhearted and rational, which are two things he obviously learned to be on his own.

Videos not available in the UK. Damn international copyright laws.

We do sympathize! As far as I can tell, he's not available on YouTube either.

I've loved Christopher Titus ever since his sitcom(ish) show was on the air (that was the first time I'd ever heard of him). Yeah, his family life was so far beyond dysfunctional, they need a new word for it. I really appreciate how much he had to overcome to get to a point of relative sanity and happiness.

Yes! He's obviously a person who reasoned his way to sanity and relative functionality. I appreciate that. And I appreciate how ticked off he is about things, too. I've often wanted to just express fully how ridiculous I think some argument is. I come here and rant, of course. But this move to tie up the world's water supply in the hands of a few gamblers with unlimited gall, is the sort of thing that sets me off. Or, rather, that nobody even cares when someone completely inhuman makes that sort of power grab.

And I do like your icon. Sometimes I feel that way as well.

I could watch the videos, to my surprise. They ARE good. My only prior exposure to him was his TV show.
