Meme about Titles

Tell us the story behind 5 of your fanfiction titles. I love titles...so I would love to tell you...
ICHNOBATE: One of the fabled hounds of a famed hunter in Greek Mythology. When their master was turned into a stag by Artemis the hounds turned on him, ran him to ground and tore him apart. There is an actual demon hound in the fic but (as was slowly becoming apparent) the title refers to the power of the Slayer...which I will (muse willing) eventually show is the true Season 7 villian.
STILL LIFE WITH MELON AND HONEY: This title has won several best title awards...and really...it is pretty straight forward. Buffy isn't very animated (she is having a still life) and the Melon and Honey comes from a discussion in the fic about lip balm.
SWEET SPOT: Again this title carries multiple meanings. Originally it was a reference Spike makes about he and Buffy having a sweet spot of their very own and it was a winking euphemism for the g-spot. But it is also the area of a racket (or cue ball) that when struck produces ultimate rebound. And so this is the fic that hits the mark on the B/S relationship and let's them change direction dynamically...bounce in an entirely different direction.
FACING THE MIRRORS: First vampires don't reflect...so the idea of Spike as an unsuitable boyfriend is there as something TO FACE. Then, there is the deeper meaning of Buffy and Riley facing their own monstrous inner selves. This fic is all about facing what you are...Buffy facing the Slayer inside...and facing up to loving Spike.
RAIN ON DUST: Here like in FALL OF EAGLES...I am simply quoting myself...the title is from a line in the fic (one that hasn't seen the light of day yet)...Prior to his coming to Sunnydale, a seer tells Spike about Buffy and says, "Kill her. Kill her quick. Or she will fall on you like rain on dust and you will be remade." And it is, of course, a bit of homage to the original handful of dust that was turned into mud and endowed with life by the creator. And it plays with the idea that vampires are nothing more than dust but Spike could be more than the monster.
Well...yeah...isn't everything a plot device?
