So, I haven't been paying any attention at all to Doctor Who, as you might imagine given my lack of interest in watching it these days. I hadn't so much as bothered looking for clips for the Christmas special. But today, I was tempted to look at an SFX article about singing SciFi stars (not including those like Billie Piper who can actually sing)...but...including...this...

LOLOLOLOL! And I say that as someone who HAS seen his singing Priceline commercials.

After my LOL, I noticed the name of the Doctor Who Christmas special in the story tags to one side of this hilarious clip. Amazingly, my first piece of original fiction, has one of those SAME words in its title. And what the word refers to, in the story, is very similar in character to what MY title refers to in MY story. That, in and of itself would be an odd coincidence, but as I was writing the original piece of fic, I suddenly thought that I could set the story in the house that I was using for the Doctor and Rose in Wild Geese 2. That house is on Grimshaw Lane (Grimshaw being a famous painter who did a couple of creepy paintings of country lanes). So, I did have Doctor Who in mind as I wrote this story, though I hadn't intended it to be Doctor Who fanfic. But now, even against my conscious will, it reads like Doctor Who fanfic. HEADDESK!

I can't take anything that Shatner does/says seriously because of stuff like that and his Priceline commercials.

LOL! I find it very amusing that even when you're trying not to you some how seem to be psychically connected to the minds behind Dr. Who. I'm sorry.

I know, I can't escape the DW mindset. Thanks for the sympathy. I really should strike while the iron is hot on Wild Geese 2.

Shatner is priceless. Though, I don't think anyone takes him seriously.

Tell me you haven't missed his, "Lucy, in the Sky With Diamonds." Because that honestly is so cringe worthy it's almost awesome. ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-yy2URAYqU

Though given the choice, I'd rather listen to Mr Spock. LOL

I have heard his Lucy. I think that might be the song he sang for Priceline, too.

Nice to see him sticking with his strengths then. ;)

I'm only aware of their singing careers because my 12th English teacher was a big time geek and he brought his albums in and played them for us. Hee.

I tried to find the singing Priceline commercial, but the only one I saw on YouTube was for Busta Move...and that's not the one I saw earlier. It was some classic karaoke song he did.

Those Nimoy shots on the clip you linked were awesome, too. I can't imagine him as "cool," but I suppose he was at one time. I think Spock is great though. It's just those skin tight pullovers of heart-throb status that get to me.
