On of my LJ-Friends,
ginmar posted this and I thought I would bring it on over here. The kitty is recovering but needs help as the city kitties people try to prosecute the owners.

He's hanging in there. My heart goes out to him as my beloved Solomon died of dehydration after a very nasty neighbor of ours trapped him, took him out into the desert and abandoned him. Sol walked home to me. Because he had no idea how to feed himself and he was very devoted to me. It took him 3 weeks and the vet said he probably didn't eat and barely drank and so we could not save him from organ shut down. There is a special corner of hell for people who abandon animals like this.

A good samaritan found this cat today in a gutter by Clark Park, half dead. He is now at the Cat Doctor with a body temperature of 90 (normal is 102) and blood PCV of 8. The Cat Doctor housecat, Diamond, is currently donating blood to save his life. During the exam, the vet found that this cat has a microchip. When called, his "owners" reported that he was acting sick, so they put him outside. If this makes you as angry as it makes us, please channel your anger in one of two ways: visit our website at www.citykitties.org and make a donation to help us pay for his care, or share this post and encourage others to do so.

Date: 2011-11-24 05:32 am (UTC)I sent the Pennsylvania SCPA (whose site it was) a note saying that I thought their donation page was no longer secure and urging them to have their webmaster look into it. I suspect it was secure when it was first set up, but that somewhere along the line something was misconfigured, perhaps during a move to another server.
