OCTOBER IS...

...Unprocessed Food Month! That means we should all try to be aware of how many highly processed foods we eat. Fast foods like hamburgers from Wendy's or frozen dinners from Lean Cuisine. Also, convenience foods like instant potatoes or mac and cheese. And we should all try to eat more unprocessed foods, like potatoes or spinach.

It is also National Disability Employment Awareness Month. A month close to my own heart.

Apple, Applejack and Mom & Apple Pie Month

and....National Pickled-Pepper Month.

So have a potato, spinach, apple and pickled pepper fry up for dinner and invite your vegetarian, gay, lesbian, bisexual, Polish and/or Italian American friends...and your Mom, who is definitely also a woman of achievement. If you are Texan remind everyone to give you a hug and if you are not a Texan remind everyone to say Thanks...because most importantly, October is National Courtesy Month.

I eat a lot less processed food than I used to, but I could still do better in that department. Disabled employment FTW! \o/

I can get behind most of these, but potatoes? YUCK. I figure they get plenty of love from everybody else, they don't need me. ;)

Roller skating month???? YAY! I've been saying for ages that I wanted to try that again (now that I'm not toting an extra person around with me). Perhaps this shall give me the incentive to head over to my local rink.
