I really hate to count Friends, 24 and Lost as shows I watched, because I only watched them for a very short part of their overall run. Two seasons for Friends and 24 and only the first season of Lost. But it was definitely more than one episode so I'm counting them.

I'd have a LOT of scratch-offs on this one... and it doesn't mention a lot of shows I DID used to watch.

I have just taken steps to remove my scratch off of The Wire and Spaced. I have both on order from the library. :grin:

I can recommend Farscape the most from this list. Then probably Buffy and Angel though both shows ended poorly in my opinion, running out of creativity in their final seasons. Dexter is consistently good but not for the faint of heart or people who are bothered by the morality of it. I always find myself getting vaguely nauseated and then I stop watching it for the season, so I am perpetually behind on Dexter.

What did you scratch out that you have considered watching? And what did they miss that you enjoyed? I must say I'm surprised by a few of the entries on this list and there are certainly shows I loved that didn't make the cut. Though, for the most part, just because I enjoy a show, I don't necessarily think it is stellar TV...like Murdoch Mysteries for example. I love it, but it's not exceptional TV.

Sex and the City, Farscape and The West Wing were the scratch-offs that are intriguing

X-Files (mostly, there were a number of season that were kind of "meh"), ALL of the Star Trek series', I still love Futurama (they've been making new ones for Comedy Central) and Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Ones that are akin to "Murdoch Mysteries" for me are "Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman," "Touched by an Angel," and "Eureka."

While I do agree that the X-Files took a real turn after S5 and didn't have much continuity in the end, I still think it broke enough new ground to qualify for a "Best of List." I was surprised that DS-9 was on there. I can see putting the original Star Trek and Next Generation on there. Though perhaps it would have been better to have listed Star Trek as one entry as Any Star Trek Series.

I agree with you about Monty Python, however, again...it was quite ground breaking and for a time was very influential. I'm not sure that it is STILL influential. As for Futurama, I love that show, but I don't know that it broke any ground. This is my same feeling about Family Guy...it really doesn't move us too far beyond The Simpsons.

I'm another Dr. Quinn fan. And Murdoch and Eureka are very similar in tone, if not subject matter.

Yeah, I'm looking at this list and thinking that if I did this meme I'd have to create something for "watched more than a couple episodes but significantly less than the whole thing".

I had way more strikeouts than you did, and I'd have made Blackadder bold, but fonts aside, I have to ask: did you watch Cracker before you learned Chris Eccleston was in it -- and did you watch any episodes without Eccleston? (Personally, in answer to both questions, I did NOT, which is why I also would italicize.)

P.S. - Yes, I'm still here, and reading along. Am at a keyboard, so can dash off a quick response!

Hi;

Nice to see you are still reading along. Not that I have posted much that was worth reading lately, but it is nice to still be on your radar. :grin:

As for Cracker, this just goes to show how few of them I watched...I was not aware that Chris was in that show. Now, I must go watch a few more. LOL It was one of the shows I barely qualified for...but I did see about 2.5 of them.
