NOW THERE IS SPUFFY VID
Mar. 16th, 2004 02:41 pmBecause once you start down the vidding path...forever will it dominate your destiny...consume you it will.
Anyway, I decided to put up my very first ever vidding effort...cause then I will have TWO vids up at my brand-spanking-new vid site...and hey, it isn't so very lame...someone liked it enough to feedback. Maybe you will, too.
The Spuffy vid is called HEARTBREAKER...and is all from Dead Things...and all about Addiction/Love/Etc.

Date: 2004-03-16 01:05 pm (UTC)I have a confession to make: I was enthusiastic about Spuffy vids yesterday, but today I find it very hard to watch S6 stuff (hormone fluctuation perhaps?) I just don't feel like plunging there again right now. I think the S6 Spuffy becomes worse in retrospect.
So whatever the feedback I'm writing today, it's influenced by my Spuffy-less attitude of the moment. Just a warning.
Anyway, the song is very fitting and I liked the clip choice, even if it's not easy to watch those parts again. I especially liked the opening and closing shots.
From a technical standpoint, the clip arrangement was a bit slow for the tempo of the song, but I know it's hard to master this all at once. Next time try cutting up the clips and rearranging it a bit to keep it fresh and moving along. But on second thought, what you chose to do works, because the clips portray the mood and the emotions and it's an important point. You'll have to ask other vidders (definitely not me) about the clip length issue.
again, good job
No, I totally agree, Gobi
Date: 2004-03-16 02:30 pm (UTC)So, it was a combination of NOT knowing what the heck I was doing (I never read directions) and also wanting a certain mood. I have yet to master clip capture from my vid-cd's (I don't even know if it is possible with this program. So I am working with the full episode and carving out my clips. And this makes my transitions all choppy. It is probably like learning to drive...I just have to learn how many frames to lap over for a smooth cut or fade. And I need to capture a few short clips so the whole thing isn't quite as unwieldy.
I did not know that you vid...or maybe I am just too tired to remember. I would love to see some of your work. I am a vidder out of desperation...because I can't afford to have a real vidder do my songs. And so...I am doing it myself. Are your vids up on the net somewhere?
Rae
sadly not a vidder myself
