1. Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
2. Turn to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post that sentence along with these instructions in your LiveJournal.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

Mine was a very uplifting...

"You've done everything right."

From The Writer's Guide to Crafting Stories for Children by Nancy Lamb.

Kind of boring one: "Not much, maybe two inches, but when the canyon starts squeezing the water it can go up fast." From Borderline by Nevada Barr.

I don't know. I think that it rather applies to your WLS. The food is like the water in a canyon...being squeezed through you quicker, speeding you along as it were.

And it is good to read Nevada Barr. Though she's a bit cerebral for me. I am more Janet Evanovich, I'm afraid. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Heh. I suppose that's true.

You know, I don't think I've ever read any Janet Evanovich. She writes the Stephanie Plum series, right?

Yes, to the Stephanie Plum series. And Katherine Heigl is doing One for the Money as a feature film. The problem with One for the Money is that it isn't really like the rest of the books. It is quite harrowing...and the books get sillier and sillier as we go along. But I really believe that the first seven or so are fine books. Lately, like all authors eventually do, she's gotten into a rut of doing books with no substance to them.
