This has been all over Twitter. So it is probably all over LJ, too. But I thought some of you might have missed it. Benedict Cumberbatch (the new Sherlock Holmes) talks about his place in Doctor Who and about David Tennant. He explains how those lovely pictures of he and David Tennant came about a few years ago. David made contact with Benedict's mother is seems.

DT comes across as charmingly geeky in this clip. As an obsessive Who fan myself, I was very impressed with him for this bit of trivia pursuit. I mean, it's not like knowing who Davros is, is it? Anyone would know that.

No! That is the best name ever. If you can stick out your hand and introduce yourself as Benedict Cumberbatch...well...you know that's going to build character. :grin:

I love that it's his real name and he stuck with it. And I also love that it is much longer and sillier if you put his middle names in as well. And that his mother wanted him to change it and he refused.

BTW, I must now insist that you run Benedict Cumberbatch through an anagram generator. You can find one with a google search...and enjoy the often dirty sounding results you get.

But, if you enter his name in an anagram generator....many less sweet, even risque-sounding, anagrams come up...

like...

Cabbed Bunch Creme Tit

or

Tabbed Bum Cinch Erect

or

Barbed Bitch Cecum Ten

I don't know what they mean exactly...the last one is some reference to the blind intestine...but they are not wholesome sounding phrases. And Ten is involved in a lot of the more dubious ones...which is just wrong. LOL
