The icon that suits me just now. SIGH!

So, what's happening in RabidWorld?

Many, many medical tests. Including today's visit to the cardiologist. One of the horrid side effects of sleep apnea is that you begin to develop cardio-pulmonary complications. My EKG showed some abnormalities and so it was off to the cardiologist. I was very apprehensive, but his office was lovely. His staff seemed very competent and I'm scheduled now for stress tests and echocardiograms. All of which sound very scary to me...back to being terrified, I suppose.

No, no! I'm taking a break for being scared for the rest of this month. I hope.

It is, after all, premiere week. But I am rather sick today with all the driving and worry. Neither of those things are good for fibromyalgia...or a wonky heart. So, I've simply TIVO'ed the premiere of Chuck and Hawaii Five-O! I am going to Hulu the first episode of Chase. And as I've said, I'm giving up on House. I really don't think I can take House/Cuddy cuddling and I am upset at Fox anyway. Luckily, that has only taken out two shows for me. Most of what I watch is on NBC or CBS. Of course, it also means I will have to give up So You Think You Can Dance...but I'm not that upset about that one either.

What are you all up to?

It appears the Ibuprofen I was given to calm the Costochondritis... I am allergic to. I started vomiting blood and yellow bile. Currently I'm on Omeprazole to repair my stomach, but it appears that is giving me violent and constant wind through the day and the night which is slowing down my recovery. It's been a pretty rubbish six weeks in Lisa world. I am very grateful I was able to go on my Cardiff holiday with friends before my stomach lining disappeared.

Aww! I am not allergic to ibuprofen, but it does seriously upset my tummy. And they did wanted me on Omeprazole to repair it, though I went another way. Hopefully, in England they know that is a course of treatment and not something you will be on for the rest of your life. Over here they want you on every medication forever, including those that say on the label they should only be used for 14-21 days, like Omeprazole.

I am happy that you were able to squeeze in some hols. I can't remember the last time we had a holiday from Chez Rabid, but I do think it helps with the stress to just have a change of scenery. I have been missing you on the Yahoo Chat. I haven't been very active on LJ, but I do think of you often and I'm glad to hear from you. Though, of course, I wish you were feeling better. HUGS!

Yes, over here the Omeprazole is a course of treatment rather than something to be on for life. Having said that, the NHS seemed happy to leave me on the Modafinil and Amitriptyline. Since my first trip to A&E, I've come off them and never felt more alive.

Sadly I'm going to be absent from IM for a while longer. My chest is still intolerant to a lot of typing with the lingering Costochondritis. It doesn't help that my gas-ruined sleep means my healing rate from lactic acid build up from typing is very slow.

Yes! I had that with the Modafinil, too. At least I think that's the medication that started giving me the ADD symptoms (Provigil?). After I stopped it I felt like I was alive and able to focus for a time. Of course, now my focus is going downhill again.

Typing thankfully just makes me very tired. I have days, like yesterday, where it causes me a lot of pain in my hands, though. And I suppose it did me no favors while I was suffering with the costochondritis...but we were so focused on my heart at that time that I didn't pay much attention to other things. I know I didn't type very much.

Still, here we are, having some conversation. And I hope that your chest and tummy will both feel better soon.

I am sitting in a living room full of flat packs, next to a demolished kitchen. The units and the tiles and the flooring, and large chunks of plaster on the walls have all gone.

I am sure it will all look lovely eventually.

p.s. Hope to see you on IM, if you can drag yourself to the keyboard.

I did have to drag myself, as you know.

I am happy that you are going to have a new kitchen, even if you must live with the debris of the old one for a few days.

Rae
looking forward to new kitchen pics when it is done.

One of my work friends is getting sleep apnea surgery friday. :(

Really enjoyed Chuck last night. I DVR'd Hawaii Five-O to watch tonight and found myself enjoying it more than I expected to (note - I am working w/o any knowledge of the original). I gave up on House years ago and I'm glad now. I can't remember - have you given Castle a try?

I watched the very first Castle and didn't care for it. Didn't hate it. I just didn't want to devote the time to it. I see that it is out on DVD now. So, I am thinking of watching it through and then seeing about this season. I don't know though. I currently feel that if I'm not going to write than I don't deserve to watch too much TV.

And what type of surgery is your friend having? There are several types but I need the one for both upper and lower jaw and that one costs a fortune...no insurance would cover it. And it is rather risky for someone my age. I suppose I should have pushed for it hard when I was 25, but I didn't have sleep apnea back then.

Castle doesn't really change much through the season, though the plots do get a bit stronger. Mostly it trades on Nathan being adorable but the supporting cast does get better and better.

I'm not sure which surgery he's having. I think its just the upper jaw. He was on the mask for a little while but it wasn't doing much for him and he is only 27.
