Would I Lie To You? Post 3
Sep. 9th, 2010 11:03 pmI hope you are having fun learning all about me. Everyone that is playing seems to be enjoying themselves. So, let's try another one, shall we?
The answer to yesterday's puzzler is below the cut and some spaces at the end of this post...to protect those people who are reading these out of order from being spoiled in their guesses. Now they can play along as well.
True or False?
During my short stint as a late night radio DJ, I did a live on-air interview with Vegas animal trainer extraordinaire, Siegfried, but not Roy.
As per the show rules, you can ask me clarifying questions in the comment section.
And the answer to yesterday's true or false question is...
True! My brother...bless...did keep a year old male cougar named Charlie in the same bedroom where his preschool girls slept and played for over a week. The reason, honestly, was because Charlie couldn't pass for an Ocelot.
Charlie's owner, my brother's friend, received a stipend from the National Ocelot Society or Friends of the Ocelot or some such organization and they had scheduled an inspection of his facility to make sure that he had no other big cats there. They didn't want their money squandered on non-Ocelots. To be fair, Charlie was quite tame and stayed in a cage, rather than roaming around eating children as some envisioned, but he still might have proved dangerous. He made a very big impression on me as I was about 12 at this time. I used to pet him through the bars and he purred ever so nicely for me. Later, I had the same experience with a full grown Bengal Tiger named Pasha.

...Once.

Date: 2010-09-10 10:00 am (UTC)As for your DJ story, I'm inclined to believe it, but I may be biased because I did radio at uni so can imagine that scenario happening. Was it scary interviewing someone famous and how did the interview go?
Have you seen the episode of Would I Lie to You when Jimmy Carr says that he wears corrective insoles and then pulls them out of his shoes to prove it? I use the same brand as him!!

Date: 2010-09-10 02:42 pm (UTC)As for the interview. It felt flat to me. I have interviewed lots of people but not too many famous ones. And I was a bit of a fangirl (I love the big cats as you can see by my last confession), so I disappointed myself. He was very gracious and didn't rush me. Though his handler (the lady coordinating the parade) did.

Date: 2010-09-10 02:55 pm (UTC)Unlike the other players, you have the advantage of many stories about my family. So, you can readily believe they would keep big cats in the same room as small children.
But you don't believe me about Sigfried though. Hmmm!
