So, my last post wasn't as popular as I'd hoped. But I am determined this could catch on all over LJ. Therefore, I will tell you that it was TRUE that I cry every single time the voice-over starts on Supernatural's S5 finale.

Now, for another stab at this...

True or False?

My brother once kept a cougar (the feline predator not the older human female type) in his tiny two bedroom apartment for over a week. His two daughters, both of whom were preschoolers at this time, slept and played in the bedroom where he kept the big cat.

Remember that according to the rules, you can ask me some clarifying questions about this before deciding if I'm lying or telling the truth.

I'm leaning toward false, but can think of some plausible scenarios. So... How old was the cougar? How did he acquire it?

The cougar was about 1 year old. He was holding it for a friend who was having an 'ocelot inspection done and the friend felt the cougar would not pass as an ocelot.

Did the cougar have spots?

The cougar did not have spots. He was about 1 year old and tawny colored with a bit of black around the muzzle.

I don't believe it. Even a one-year-old cougar could have had the little ones for breakfast...

He certainly could have eaten the littlest one. But perhaps you are overestimating my brother's paternal instincts...or common sense.

Hmm, did this poor old cougar have running around room? I still don't believe you by the way - you mention your brother's common sense, but he kept a big cat in a two-bed apartment.....

The poor cougar did not have room to roam. And I wish I had pictures. I did say you might be OVERESTIMATING my brother's common sense. It is one of those incidents that looking back on it as an adult, fills me with a true sense of how reckless my family was. <<--something to bear in mind for future Would I Lie To You puzzles, btw.

What was the cougar's name? And was it hand-fed as a cub?

It's name was Charlie. And it was hand-fed as a cub. You could pet it if you wanted.

No matter what, I'm hard-pressed to believe a guy let his little ones hang out with a grown cougar. But what the hell; everyone else said no, and going with the flow is boring.

Sure, Charlie the cougar hung out with your relatives for a week or so.

What did the girls think of the cougar? Have they had any pets since? :)

One of them really liked him. The other one thought he smelled and was bored by him. And they had a tame skunk at this time. I thought the skunk stank myself, even though he was deflowered or whatever they do to surgically remove his sprayer.
