Pop quiz! I have five WIP and people posting heartfelt pleas for me to finish or at least update. This inspires me to...

A) think about how Angel should end.
B) write a ficlet about it.
C) hum loudly so I won't hear the groans.
D) all of the above.

Anyway...find the new fic, SAFIDY (S/B and PG) at:

Some people have said this post isn't at the top of my list...so I am refreshing it.

Definitely enjoyed this. Quite the choice for Angel, and human Spike was right on. :)

Read your ficlet! Yay! MAKE M.E. end it this way, okay? You must MAKE them! It's perfect. Angel gets to be the hero, and Spike gets to be the man. And would Spike put a sword through Buffy to save the world? Hmmmm...he just might... not...

Seriously, another wonderful story from your verse, which, to my mind, is really in tune with who these characters are. I've always loved the way you know them from the inside out. Loved the insight you bring to me about them and the way you reveal it through your wildly entertaining stories.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback

...I wish the Buffyverse had more in common with mine. I mean...it's not like I don't cause pain and suffering. I just think sometimes the fans deserve delightful surprises as well as heartwrenching ones. Life isn't a Telemundo Soap Opera, occasionally you can just wrap things up.

I think a Fray vs. Angelus movie in a couple of years would rock.

I'm sorry, I can't comment very much right now because I'm slightly verklempt (but in a good way). I read this on my lunch break and my heart melted. Thanks, Rabid, for a marvelous story.

I got my picture from some icon community. Who knew, huh? I'd make them myself, but I suck at shrinking the images down to 100x100.

*beam*

And something I didn't notice the first time, but really should have, was that Angel's choice mirrored Buffy's in "Chosen." He chose to change the lives of thousands of people he had never met. In theory, in a good way, but not only would all the vampires have to deal with changed senses like Spike, there must have been quite a lot of waking up freezing cold in crypts going WTF?

And so I approve of the new title, as well.

In a way, taking the (past) victims out of Angel's choice made the decision he made simpler (in terms of historical continuity), but also less obvious... dusted or human, vampires would all still be gone. I suppose them not being damned was a Good Thing... but I still have my doubts as to where unsouled vampires go, and how much they mind once they're there. So it was more a champion's choice, and one Spike might not have made... except that he was so sure Buffy loved Angel that he might have done it for her.

Excellent, thank you.

...and yes, it won't be all beer and skittles for the vampires. And also...people like the referenced OTIS are back and probably crazy in a more destructive way than Drusilla. And then there are the rest of the demons. I figure Angel needs something to do for the rest of his unlife and harnessing demons is a good thing. The Slayers will be important to the adjustment period...and then...they will slip into myth until Fray comes along. Angelus is waiting. And really...that would be a VERY COOL movie: Fray vs. Angelus.

Yup. And I find it entirely possible that Angel might turn someone way way way down the road... like hundreds or thousands of years... if he got very lonely and forgot why it was a bad plan, and then they'd turn someone, and oops! But then Of course, Angelus would turn people like crazy... and it would all be vampires all over again.

And while I haven't read Fray, I think it's cool your ending fits into it.
