leave a heartfelt plea for a Spike/Buffy reunion. It is the only hope for the franchise to survive. We must have closure. If not in May than in a movie. I know this to be true...the same way I knew the character of Spike would falter on Angel...the ratings would sag...and this day would come.

I now say, "Reunite Spuffy! Redeem Buffy! And you will save the Buffyverse for posterity!" Please go and post if you care.

Done, but...

In a way, I hope SMG doesn't come back. She prefers B/A to B/S (and given the fact B/S made her character unlikeable for awhile there, you can kind of understand, even if you vehemently disagree). If SMG comes back, I see there being about a third chance each for B/A, B/S, or an ambiguous ending. B/A would make no sense, for either of their characters, especially Angel. If it's gonna be ambiguous, well, we had that in "Chosen," (or rather, TPTB thought we did), and that was annoying. If it's gonna be ambiguous, then just leave it offscreen.

That leaves 33.3...% chance for S/B, and those aren't odds I love.

Then again, my entire reaction to this news has been... nonstandard.

Were you dancing...Ally, Carrie and I...

...we danced. And I, at least, felt a moment of shame...however...all this really says is Ally, Carrie, Nauti, Queen, Love, You and all the other storytellers out there...were right! Spike sans Buffy isn't as compelling a character...and Angel the series isn't strong enough to survive on it's own.

Not just because DB is an inferior actor...in fact, mostly because JW and Company kept trying to tie him to Buffy's apron strings even when there was no need for that. If they had given us closure to the B/A thing when they should have...in Season 1 of Angel...and then given us closure last year...I believe AtS could have survived.

I know if I'd had a B/S ending for BtVS I would have happily continued to watch and pimp Angel. Also Carrie and my real life buddy David would have STARTED watching Angel...and so...just by that...I know the ratings would have improved.
