I can't believe this vid only had 175 hits. That's criminal and, hopefully, about to change...because it is hilarious. A musical theater balm to the hearts of disenchanted (aka bitter  ) Rose/Doctor fans everywhere. Poor Ten comes off...well...hilariously worthless in this one.
At first, I didn't think I liked the voice dubbing bits at the start, but they grew on me with each viewing and now I find them pretty funny. The only thing I would have changed is that for once...I would have put the Ten2/Rose kiss at the end...just after the Doctor striding over the seatbacks...then have the final kiss and the "There's a time and place for everything"...and his "What?" face. But...well...what did you all think of it?
Oh, and here is the direct link if you want to comment for the vidder or add it to your favorites.

Date: 2010-02-21 06:39 pm (UTC)Because, for me, it's the way the Doctor's universe works. I could just pretend it never happened or go off on a tangent into AU land somewhere, but I would much rather make myself comfortable with the reality we have. And the reality we have is that Rose was abandoned in JE with the Blue Doctor and the Brown Doctor died all alone and in a rather self-centered manner.
Eleven, I believe, will go on as if the Doctor never loved Rose at all. And THAT is not what happened between Nine and Ten...Ten most definitely loved Rose all the way through. According to Martha and Donna and Jack he went on and on about her. But then, I am probably inclined to be biased toward Ten because apart from his final five episodes, Ten is my favorite Doctor...and I am very Old School. I do agree he was crazy though, much more so than Nine who definitely DID have a direct connection to the Old School Doctors...as you say.
I firmly believe that Ten was designed to cut the cord with Old School...and he does do that pretty succinctly. I'm just going to explore that opinion more fully (if I can manage to write anything, that is).

Date: 2010-02-21 11:11 pm (UTC)That makes sense. It’s hard enough for me to walk away from this series after four years. (And I was always more a fan of The Rose Tyler Show than I was of Doctor Who.) I can’t imagine what it would be like if I’d spent a couple of decades caring about the Doctor.
Still, it doesn’t feel like I’m the one who went AU. I don’t think RTD even remembers the story and the characters he started with.
But maybe Moffat will take the series back to its roots. I don’t know.

Date: 2010-02-21 11:20 pm (UTC)Making sense of that view point of his is like nagging at me...I have to find a way to see it...because unlike so many Ten2 supporters...I know for sure RTD wasn't thinking Rose would love him or that he was the same man. I know that because RTD flatly says so in his book...and yeah...I suppose the truth is that he simply doesn't remember the characters he started with...but I do remember them. So...I rely more on ME to fix this than him or Moffat.
Arrogance thy name is...
