Part of me wanted to keep the horses up all the way to New Years so that Russell and company would sense my Pony Pleading from afar! Keep the faith, I say. Keep the ponies!
But all of my friends are decking their LJ halls with brightly colored ornaments...and I wanted some sparkle, too. So...I have followed the crowd like the squinty sheep that I am.
And besides...I am having back spasms. And, also, a crisis of faith.
The latter is because I just saw an End of Time clip that rather worries me.
No need to worry yourself...just move along and think happy pony thoughts. But, you could...pop under the cut if you want a small seasonal frisson.
SPOILERS AHOY!
So, I just saw the latest EoT promo.
I know, there have been so many. I feel like I've seen the episode already. This one is the one where the Master is going on about "never dying" and the sound of drums growing louder.
And...well...I must confess THAT did sound like he might be talking about Gallifrey to me. I thought, maybe the Time Lords are all trapped in that time loop now...because Dalek Ca'an interfered or something...and so instead of the planet blowing up...everyone is drumming on the walls of reality in abject terror as they experience their last moments of existence over and over again...in a perpetual loop...forever. Maybe the drumming the poor mad Master is hearing is the panicked pounding of those dying souls on Gallifrey. Let us out! Let us OUT!
SHIVER!
And also le sigh! Because I suppose if they are trapped like that, then the Doctor will have to save them. And I really...really...REALLY want the ruddy Time Lords consigned to perdition. Couldn't he just let them die? Let them fade into the past? Cut the line?
Then again, maybe I'm just completely wrong about what the Master is babbling about...maybe he's talking about his own personal immortality...or he's sensing something about the End of Time or...he's simply as mad as an electrified eel.
Edit To Say: Welcome to the advent of Icon Ponies!
Icon Pony expects us to keep believing in him!

Date: 2009-12-17 06:43 am (UTC)I am still completely convinced that everything Russell has ever done has supported a Rose/Ten happy kiss still to come. JE was a purposeful tragedy. If we are meant to doubt the Doctor...and his decision about Donna proves to be wrong...well...then...his decision about Rose and Blue Ten is probably wrong, too.
And I would have had the Master back to underscore the dark side of the Time Lords...and so...I am all for that development. And he actually had Billie Piper on set. So...if he screws it up after all that...he deserves to never be allowed back into his native land.

Date: 2009-12-17 06:56 pm (UTC)I'll stick with the theory that the Master is simply "as mad as an electified eel", because the time loop and properly bringing back Gallifry would be terrible in my opinion.
I am still holding out for the pony. I will not give up hope until I am proved wrong.
In honour of ponies I will use my pony icon

And anyway...maybe the Master is hearing his OWN heartbeat...like Donna heard the one for Ten2.
