The Doctor Who Crew is Just TOO Adorable

This is why I can never stay mad at them. They are geek boys (and girls) and I love geek boys (and girls). I used to hang out with these guys at the comic shops in Austin. They convinced me to watch Doctor Who for the first time...they sort of ganged up on me and made me watch it. And I was all snooty and critical of the show, too. Because the aliens? Well, they were basically British blokes in black trash bags, rolling about on the floor.

But...Doctor Who isn't about good production values or a story that breaks new ground. It's about that feel good feeling...or something. Anyway, as incensed as I can get when some plot point makes no sense at all...well...I just can't stay mad. Look at them. RTD all nervous and messing up the phone thing...and the phone thing. Reminds me of that Diary Video when David is talking to Julie from Dubai. And then...there is the whole legal download comment and David kissing John...it's just adorable.

This really is adorable and they all look like they're having a blast. I can't imagine the sort of sensory overload they're on right now, though! LOL

RE: Supernatural - It's actually a good show. It took some time to find it's voice, but it's been quite fabulous the last couple of seasons. It seems really jokey and silly most of the time ('cause it is!), but there are also some really impressive serious dramatic moments. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Jensen Ackels is not just a pretty face, but a fine actor, as well.

....from a combination of jet-lag and American hospitality. I didn't think they would face any sort of ill manners when David was in the room. Because David is really loved by the fanbase. And it looks, from early reports, like the Doctor Who Panel went off very smoothly. There were very few revelations...but...lots of love. And David mentioned Billie again...which I notice he always does. This time being quite upfront about her breasts stealing his official standing on Top Gear. :lol:

The Guardian reporter is hoping for a brawl at the Torchwood panel...but I would say it is likely good manners will still prevail.

As for Supernatural...I had to grit my way through to Hook Man...but at that point I think they started putting together some interesting episodes. The boys are very clunky at this point...I am on the Asylum episode...but they sort of remind me of early Farscape, when everyone had trouble getting their acting together. I think if you are not an experienced actor...you can still develop a rapport with a character and eventually do that character justice.
