You can find me if you know my email address. Since I may tweet about real life, and my push to publish, I'm not going to give out my Twitter name to everyone, just yet.

I am, however, less than impressed with my first few minutes of Twitter involvement. I have been contacted by three people who are pitching product and one woman who wants to show me her webcam porn. I have set all new Twitter notifications to go to my SPAM file. Yes, I can see why this is the newest fad sweeping the interwebs.

Pfft!

I second the above comment. I even made a journal post with your name on it because of said spoilers. Mainly because you give me hope.

and twitter? yeah, pfft about sums it up.

I have indeed seen the latest spoilers. The pictures were splashed all over my inbox by my Google News Alert system. But that was okay with me because...I find these pictures very nice ones indeed.

Rae
always happy to be thought of...and btw...1) I love your icon and 2) will I get majorly spoiled if I go read this journal post with my name on it? I mean beyond the pictures in the Daily Mail spoiled?

My icon rocks. It was the first DW icon I got.

I read your reply to my post before reading this, and you replied to this before reading that, and I think we looped back nicely to each other :)

I've never understood what the big deal is with Twitter and how fabulous it is (even though I am interested in reading about your non-fic writing and other rl stuff).

Hurm...you're not coming up for some reason. I'm "auntiesuze" if you want to add me.

Yeah, the random followings and contacts are rather strange. I just block everybody I don't know. Twitter can be quite amusing, though. I'm loving the pics being posted from the set of Mythbusters by Grant and Adam. :)

I has added you. And I will look for this Mythbusters tweets, too.

Are you all up to date on your Doctor Who spoilers? I'm just asking.

Rae
who promises she does NOT go looking for spoilers...but keeps getting them in her mailbox alerts.

I'm lunalore over on Twitter if you wanna follow me. I don't know your email but would like to follow you, if you don't mind. But it's no big deal either way. :)

But of course I will follow your twittering...well...as much as I follow anything other than Doctor Who. Isn't it amazing I can be so very nit-picking about canon in my favorite shows and yet real people around me can go into labor and I fail to notice? Maybe that's more pathetic than amazing. :->

I'm binah1013 on Twitter. Ever so often you'll get spammers, but Twitter is usually pretty good at deactivating those accounts. Besides, you don't have to follow them.

I was going to add you, but I guess I don't know your email. :(

The name remains the same, hey? I am much like that myself. I thought you knew my email, too. Maybe it is lost in the maze of your mind. And is that The Tick on your icon? I believe it is.

I will say that since I've set Twitter to my spam file...I haven't had a lot of spam...so maybe it was just a first day sort of spat of spam.

My Twitter name has a RAE in it.

The utility/awesomeness of twitter is entirely dependent on who you follow. Someone who follows me? Would be totally bored out of their minds. But there are lots of people who are interesting and awesome. You just have to find them.

A woman who wants to show you webcam porn? Surely a spambot?

Sorry you've been plagued by spambots. Twitter is generally a good space. I've been there for 2.5 years and I've enjoyed it. If you want to add me, I'm http://twitter.com/gillie

I went a week or so on Twitter with no spammers then got a bunch of them dropped on me at once. I just lock my updates, block the spammers, and mostly just follow friends. It's working pretty well for me so far. I used it to stay in touch this weekend by having everything sent to my phone while I was internetless due to moving.

I do find it rather addictive. That means I probably won't continue with it. I have enough on my plate with full time job, illness and writing to keep me more than busy. But I didn't want to just wander around clueless to the twittering potential out there.

Rae
who is one of those stone age people without a cellphone. I'm afraid of the cybermen taking over my mind.

I also like Twitter because I feel less bad about checking the short/sweet updates than about checking LJ or non-work email durring the day.

I originally a family plan with my parents because they didn't like the idea of me being stuck on the side of the road with a 10 year old car and no way to get help. They kept it because it just became the easiest/cheapest way to stay in touch. I have the most basic cell phone you can get.

I, too, decided to give it try a month or so ago, and I find it to be much less interesting than the hoopla would lead one to suppose.

I haven't posted yet; I began by looking for folks whom I'd thought would have some interesting connections and then sent requests to follow them, as well as requests to follow some of those on their following/followers lists -- the ones that particularly interested me.

Neil Gaiman tweets frequently; Paul Cornell often; Steven Moffat (if it is in fact him) not so much (actually, none to date?).

I looked for you, but as I now know, you weren't there yet. I've the same moniker there as here and on YouTube (for ease of reference).

There are a few things I've signed to follow whose tweets are mostly google alert-style posts and/or amazon product updates, so I'll be deleting those shortly.

On the whole, I plan to be patient and see what comes of it. At the very least, it feels a bit as tho' - for the few moments that I check in - I'm sharing an elevator at a Con with some of the folks whose work I admire.
