Greetings From The Plague House

So, we have been having a very fun week here at Chez Rabid. I came home from my own pain management appointment last Tuesday to find my sweetheart curled up on the sofa moaning and feverish. His illness escalated through the night and I was very concerned about his fever and chills and vomiting. We made a doctor's appointment for Friday and hoped for the best. By Friday morning things were looking better but he still was exhausted. Still, we had every hope that he would be fine by today. However, by Saturday night his fever was back up and he was coughing and unable to stay out of the bathroom. So, back to the doctor today, instead of to work for him. As of this evening, he is keeping down toast and a cup of Powerade, but we are not optimistic yet. The doctor has given him some pills for the nausea and ordered some more blood work as this is not how flu is supposed to behave. My sweetie is very underweight and has little reserve energy...so...it is possible that the flu is simply kicking his ass. But now we are all wondering.

Meanwhile, I have the endurance of a new born kitten fighting its way out of a wet paper sack. I tend to rely on my sweetie for a lot of daily care and now he can't even help himself. Talk about trying. Yesterday, I had a trio of unknown neighborhood boys help me get the groceries in the door. They were casing the joint, but I hope I discouraged them with my talk of flu in the house and such. :grin:

Good thoughts needed again. Sheesh!
