SIGH! So, I am still standing, though a bit windblown and quite soggy. Excuse me while I drip on things. I am at work, though several of the staff were allowed to leave, those of us pulling the late shift are staying. Why are people out in this? I ask you! I suppose after three days of this we all have a bit of cabin fever.

The lake on my street has crested its banks...so we will see how far that water comes along the blocks between. I do not have lake front property, thank goodness. When I think of the number of times I have studied those houses with an envious eye.... :evil smirk:

Actually, in the early 1990's we had a similar situation here and it flooded to where my house is now. I lived in another area at that time. So, I should avoid getting cocky at this point as we have lots more rain on the way...it appears. Though she's made landfall again north of here in Flagler County...the rain bands continue to circle by us.

:waves at you all as I head off to find a towel:

Yikes! Flooding is not fun. Hopefully it'll stop soon and let you dry out.

Poor soggy Rae. I hope the stupid storm pushes off soon and leaves you with a non soggy carpet.

*strips you off and towels you down vigorously*

Yeah, we're getting a pretty steady soaking up here in NE Florida... about 30,000 people are already without power in Jacksonville (I am not one of them, thank goodness), and a couple of the bridges have closed - one such bridge is the one I have to cross to get to work. Maybe it'll just stay closed tomorrow, hmm...

I'm glad to hear that you're doing okay, if rather soggy. Yep, these are definitely the times when waterfront property isn't all it's cracked up to be!

Glad to know you're ok. We're having flooding as well. Here in Texas, we were hit with tons of rain and it flooded alot of towns out. Today was sunny but we still may get more rain.No damage where I work, the worst was when one of our field reporters dropped his camera in the river.

Stay dry. Keep bleach around and try to keep your feet dry. This is advice that a friend of mine gave. (Katrina survivor)
