REAL LIFE WRITING SUCCESS
Jun. 17th, 2008 09:36 pmSo, a few months ago my boss passed on a major writing project to me. It was the application process for a national award for our county and it required a bit of research and a lot of creative skill to complete all of the steps. Basically, I had to make our programs sound better than any comparable program in the nation to win the award.
Frankly, things looked grim for me. The writing had to be both technical with statistical supports and justification, yet also accessible to the layperson. I must say...I sweated over this task and was simply happy to have managed to complete the application by deadline.
But...there's more. I found out today...we won. YAY! From hundreds of applications there were a dozen awards in the whole nation and I took down best in show, so to speak, with my mad writing skilz.
I am feeling quite giddy at this point and definitely more chuffed about my chances for original work being published. :dusts off hands:
Now, if only my Rose POV would behave so I can post something before THAT deadline.
