Massive power outage in my neck of the woods. No explanation for it as yet. I'm going with squirrels in the works now that the Department of Homeland Security has ruled out terrorism. But the thing is 2 nuclear power plants went off line at the same time. So, if you don't hear from me or anyone else in Florida in the next few hours...it's the power outage.

*posts you a candle through the internet - hopefully my broadband is broad enough for that.

Stay safe in your sweaty Florida hell, Rae.

Are you in the Tampa or Miami area?
I was so happy when I heard about it that Orlando was unaffected.
I was at work and struck with thoughts of a complete power outage at Disney.
That would be terrifing, as I am in Merchindise.

I hope you've gotten your power back. At least you had a really good excuse not to work.

The power failure was such fun, wasn't it? *sigh* The power went out at my university right in the middle of class, and since the classroom has no windows, it was pretty darn dark in there! *insert Twilight Zone theme here* Alas, it came back too soon for the university to cancel my evening class so I had to teach.

Want a laugh - they posted the info about classes being held on the web. Since power was out throughout Miami, how were students supposed to get ON the web to see this info???
