Home...Home on the Flood Zone...

Hello all...

In case any of you are wondering where the heck the next part of......

A. Disheveled
B. Doomsday Coda
C. Minotaur
D. Sweet Spot*
E. Pixilated**

...is...it is wet and/or packed. You see...my apartment flooded two weeks ago. It rained from the ceiling...the ENTIRE CEILING...and that created swampland out of my carpet. The entire place needed to be gutted...so I had to move my soggy possessions elsewhere...in a hurry.

To add to the happy...my internet service provider/phone company misunderstood my instructions (22 times...I kid you not) and disconnected all of my services as soon as I told them I was moving (like as soon as I hung up the phone)...after 5 days of fighting...the turned my services back on a day before I moved...now...they won't turn them on at the NEW place. SIGH!

Anyway...I've been busy...I have been writing a little but...mostly...I've been wringing out my possessions and arguing with the phone company. Back to you all soon...I hope!

Rae
*Perhaps...we should just move on...
**Kes...sigh...really? :->

Oh, HELL. That is SERIOUS suckageness. *hugs you* 'Twere me, I'd probably be at the phone company offices, waving a plastic sword and swearing vociferously.

Well, maybe not.

Don't worry about updates; just get yourself and your stuff sorted. You'll get it done when it's done. :)

Aw man, that of the bad. Hopefully wherever you're moving to is above the water line :D

Stupid internet providers. I dread having to call them.

Geez..

[identity profile] celtae.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought I had it bad when I had to fight our phone company over our service, but you've got me totally beat. Here's to hoping that you're soon dry, connected, and creative. :)

*sends DT over with a towel...or maybe in a towel*

[identity profile] noseyroser.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yikes. Sounds like Mister Murphy and his damned law have been screwing with you, bigtime. Hang in there!

[identity profile] karie22.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay for a hint that we may be getting more of Minotaur. I'd been waiting for that one for a long time, and had assumed you'd scrapped it in favor of something else. I'm glad there's more to come, especially after that cliffhanger.

So sorry to hear about the flooding. Did you lose most of your things to water damage, or were you able to salvage the important things?

Also, my sympathies on the idiotic service people. Customer Service, you say? No no, I think Customer Torture is more appropriate.

Wankers. :-

My apartment flooded last summer, so I feel your pain. However, it motivated me to find a new place, so that's all good. Hope things get sorted for you soon!

[identity profile] karie22.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay for that!

And no, I've not seen 10/Rose yet. My heart is still breaking for the loss of 9, as I consider him my Doctor (he was the first Dr. Who I ever watched). But I like DT and I'm optimistic for 10/Rose. I've heard it's likely that the new season will be airing this fall on Scifi with BSG. Do you know how many eps are in season 2 of Who? I'm just wondering because if it's going to run over into January, I don't know what they'll do about having Who, BSG, and the Gates all on one night... unless they move Who to 7pm.

I am so sorry to hear this! I hope that things will be better soon! And I certainly don't expect any comments back from you any time soon. Or fics, as lovely as yours are. You have more important RL things to do! *hugs you, if you don't mind* Having lost most everything I owned to a fire a few years ago, I know that this sort of tragedy can be devasting.

Oh I am so sorry to hear that. I hope it all gets sorted out soon.

Oh, that's awful! Flooding is just a horrible, horrible thing, and I wish I could be of more practical help here than just condoling with you. And the phone company stuff is just the cherry on top, eh?

I've been assuming that your Buffy fics are on the very backest of back burners, and fully prepared for an announcement that you're abandoning them. In the case of Sweet Spot, in particular, I'd love a brief, plot-only explanation of where you were going to go and where it was going to end, but I understand if even this is too much work when you're now in different fandoms.

Sorry to hear about your wet woes, Rae *flooding sucks!*

I'm doing a happy dance that Minotaur is still on your agenda *whoot!!*

And as for pilots not being as happy as Ten/Rose....I can't really comment (still a Dr. Who virgin) but the latest batch of interviews has me 'shipping harder than ever, despite the distinct lack of happy - (that was me trying to be vague and positive at the same time :D )

It's good to see you're still around!

[identity profile] webeh.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, that really sucks. I hope you're able to see some dry floor soon. Soggyness is gross.

As for you ISP, I say "SCREW THEM!" Maybe you should threaten to drop them in exchange for a different company. Yes, I know that will probably involve even more work, but that might cause them to get their @ss in gear and do what you're paying them to do.

*sigh... I hate telephone/internet companies. Whenever you need help, all they ever do is bounce you around from person to person. Evil I say. Evil...

*BIG HUGS* YOu poor thing...my Dad got flooded out a couple of years ago and I remember how traumatic it was. Sending lots of love and good wishes your way...

wow, that sucks...

I can relate, I got flooded out of the bedroom of my rental house about a year and 1/2 ago. Then the kitchen ceiling partially collapsed too because the sheet rock got completely soaked and fell out making a monumental mess... plus multiple leaks in the living room-- it was bad-- the was roof slowly deteriorating over the next months. My town got hit by a monster hail storm which damaged the roof of my rental, and since most of the town was in the same situation, you could not get a roofer to save your life (they were fully booked for the next year). I ended up sleeping on my living room couch for the next 9 months (feeling a bit like Mulder), and never moved back into the bedroom because of the mold (and the other bedroom was full of the furniture that I moved out of the first bedroom). And of course, I live in the desert, but that fall and winter we had record rainfall. I spent many hours sweeping water off the roof (many of the roofs in this region are flat) trying to minimize the damage.

Ack!@#! Thankfully I'm out of that house and in a new one-- which I bought-- and it has a brand new roof :)

I sure hope things go better for you in a big hurry! Sending best wishes your way!

omg...

Omg....I feel so sorry for you. At least your computers fine but damn them people from the phone company. Wow, I thought my week was bad (My friends dad died in a car crash and I have a friend in Israel who I'm worried sick about).

Anyway, I can't wait until the next part of Dishelved!

Oh my God, was it from that Tropical storm awhile back?

[identity profile] thisficklemob.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yeek! So sorry to hear about your flooding/moving/ISP problems. I'm not here, really... no, for real, I'm at my bro's, so I have no IM and am rarely online. But I am sorry.

Re: D: don't make me write fanfic for your fanfic. ;-)

[identity profile] dualbunny.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy geezus! You must have the patience of a saint. I certainly hope things get ironed out soon.

(And I myself am sorry that I was too swamped with VVC stuff to do my beta-ly duties!)

[identity profile] hebrew-hernia.livejournal.com 2006-07-30 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
...but they WILL eventually be posted, right? RIGHT? ::PANIC::

I'm so sorry that your apartment flooded & the phone co. is run by douchebags, etc. I hope everything works out!

::quietly goes back to panicking because Disheveled IS the best thing since sliced bread, ever::

[identity profile] jonquil.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
I hope nothing you love got ruined. Get dry soon.

[identity profile] bethtaurichick.livejournal.com 2006-08-01 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
You poor thing! I hope everything gets worked out (and dry!) soon. Hang in there! *sends happy thoughts (especially David Tennant thoughts!) your way*
