I can relate, I got flooded out of the bedroom of my rental house about a year and 1/2 ago. Then the kitchen ceiling partially collapsed too because the sheet rock got completely soaked and fell out making a monumental mess... plus multiple leaks in the living room-- it was bad-- the was roof slowly deteriorating over the next months. My town got hit by a monster hail storm which damaged the roof of my rental, and since most of the town was in the same situation, you could not get a roofer to save your life (they were fully booked for the next year). I ended up sleeping on my living room couch for the next 9 months (feeling a bit like Mulder), and never moved back into the bedroom because of the mold (and the other bedroom was full of the furniture that I moved out of the first bedroom). And of course, I live in the desert, but that fall and winter we had record rainfall. I spent many hours sweeping water off the roof (many of the roofs in this region are flat) trying to minimize the damage.
Ack!@#! Thankfully I'm out of that house and in a new one-- which I bought-- and it has a brand new roof :)
I sure hope things go better for you in a big hurry! Sending best wishes your way!
