I was off looking for a quote about Rose for a buddy of mine and I came across a whole sheaf of them. Since, I love having my OTP acknowledged...I thought I would share these again, I'm sure I've shared most of them before...but those who say Moff hates Rose...need to see the last one.

“From the moment they meet, the Doctor and Rose are soul mates. They understand and complement each other.” – Russell T Davies
“What Rose brings to the Doctor’s life is completion. It’s completing a circle – he’s male, he’s alien, he’s a traveler. Between the two of them together they complement each other and discover each other. And are in love with each other – absolutely, unashamedly, unreservedly.” – Russell T Davies
“It’s a love story…it’s like love at first sight, in a way.” – Christopher Eccleston
“The Doctor is literally thrown into this bizarre new circumstance before he’s properly gotten himself together after saying farewell to Rose, who was the love of his life.” – David Tennant
“I think Rose was unique in the sense that she loved him and he loved her back. And it was more than just a hint, it was deeply emotional.” – Freema Agyeman
“The Doctor and Rose love each other. I think it’s that simple.” – Euros Lyn
“She’s the one woman, the one human, that can make him better – that can make him a bigger character, a better man.” – Julie Gardner
“From first holding the Doctor’s hand to a farewell on a beach, Rose is the Doctor’s reason to fight, to endure, to ensure there’s light in the darkness. Together they can achieve anything. As Episode 9 describes it, they are the stuff of legends.” – Julie Gardner
"If Rose is over there and she's all you want in the universe, and you're desparate to get to her, you want to be able to run flat out" - David Tennant
"There they are on a Dalek ravaged street, the furthest distance apart, her with a big gun, him with the TARDIS and they run toward one another...like the biggest romance you've ever seen in your life." -- Russell T Davies

“Obviously and quite overtly, really, the subtext of this show is that the Doctor is hopelessly in love with Rose.” – Steven Moffat

And to Moff's credit, he never tries to make the Doctor hopelessly in love with anyone else. He does have a bad case of my companion is fancier and more dazzling and capable than any other, but (and perhaps this is simply because he can't write epic love stories)...he never lets his Doctor emotionally engage beyond a passionate sort of interest in others. Eleven is fascinated by the quirky charming mystery of River (and Amy and Clara, as well) but he doesn't love any of them in the way that Nine and Ten loved Rose. There is no danger of his becoming desparate to reach them if they appear on a distant street corner.

*sigh* They are so EPIC! Yep, no other ship measures up to the FEELS. It's been years and I still miss seeing them onscreen.

The funny thing is that Moffat knows the Doctor loves Rose-and he hates that fact. He has spent two full seasons trying to make that fact go away. He has rebooted the universe, married the Doctor off to River, and kept River around long past her "sell by" date to try and get the fandom to accept his view of the Doctors "twu wuv" Now he is only letting River go so he can try again with Clara. I fully expect him to use this anniversary special to try and degrade the relationship yet again. I used to think it was some buried animosity between him and RTD that caused this malice, but after seeing the season finale and how derivative it was I have another theory.

I think Moffat at least skims the fan fiction websites. I think he has run out of creative ideas and really does troll around to get some. It has to really tick him off that here, even after three years of his characters, most of the stories feature RTD's world. Even more infuriating many of the stories pair his Eleven with Rose. Nobody seems to find Ten/River compelling. Not only that, but the more experienced a writer is the more likely they are to be Rose fans, with that comes some of the better and more creative stories Part of it comes with age and the fact that most romance writers are female. I think this has given rise to a vindictive streak in Moffat. I don't think he will be content to leave well enough alone he will want to burn down RTD's storyline and sow the ashes with salt.

Maybe I come across a little harsh but I don't see any checks at all on Moffat's behavior. I actually seems to me to be ratcheting up as he becomes more and more insecure.
