I have always done Moff the favor of allowing that his passion to put his fingers all over Doctor who stems from his own fandom days. That he watched as a child and imagined what HE would do with the show...that is...the childish fandom thing that so many fanboyz do...make it all about himself. David Tennant has a streak of this in him as well, which is why he saw nothing wrong with the "I don't want to go" line. It was about HIM, David...not the Doctor, but he failed to appreciate that.
Now, we see Moff causing no end of canon headaches for whatever writer takes over from him. Assuming that the BBC doesn't just cancel the show as unwatchable before Moff is finished. I feel he has already warped the show beyond recognition since he has added Clara and River to every Doctor's time line. I mean, not only are they very limited, sexist characters...but we can't be rid of them...or him. So, I am going with my I&B solution. And maybe I should apply to the BBC as headwriter. I have no experience, but they will need someone who can turn the tide on Moff's ego binge at the end of it.
