Fanfic is something you have to seek out, but it is also getting easier and easier to find. I assume JKR's picturing a worst case type scenario where a young kid accidentally stumbles across something graphic while looking for something more innocent w/o know enough to know the difference and is 'scared for life' - and I don't blame her for not wanting that. Nor do I blame the fic writers who do so anyway because that's what warnings and age check pages are for.
