Yep! It is like alien abduction. I was watching Castle S1 the other day and they were saying that a lot of missing people are never found, so...maybe they've been permanently plucked out of their pond!
Raptors are very determined critters. We have a local one that consumes all of the baby ducks. Soft-hearted neighbors have been trying to discourage this behavior in a number of ways, but to no avail. The raptor can't be scared or intimidate or...apparently...outfoxed by humans.
And I am reminded of my adventure with the falconer a few months back, when one of his littlest birds was set upon by a wild hawk three times her size. She prevailed against her attacker by simply taking a frontal assault approach to him.
Just what I was thinking. I saw a deeply creepy thing on Youtube awhile back, about how aliens were beings who lived in more dimensions than us, which is why their craft look like disks or cigars when they intersect our reality -- like your finger would to a two-dimensional being, if you stuck it through a sheet of paper. At first, I was just laughing at it, and then I started getting creeped out, so I stopped watching. :p
That's interesting, because I've always felt that would be the best explanation of why we can't see the craft properly, or film it. If it is multidimensional then, light might be refracting off it in strange patterns that deceive the eye and the camera designed for our eye. Cameras, afterall, are specifically designed to capture things as we see them in this dimension. But we know that there are many things around us, for example, x-rays, radio signals, microwaves, and magnetic fluctuations, that we cannot see.
Well, it was also full of quasi-Biblical blargle about God sending the flood to wipe out the children of the aliens (or Nephilim), so it was mostly funny. But anything that suggests that aliens can wander into your bedroom at night achieves creepiness sooner or later.
