The heartless Beeb never listens, I'm afraid. I have mentally begged for them to reshow The Edible Garden again since the series ended before the growing season had even really began. But they have deprived me of my beloved Alys Fowler who has barely even been a presence on Gardeners' World. (alas, I fangirl BBC garden shows, lol!)
Moff really is much better at this. Of course, he also has a co-creator who likely lets Moff focus on the things he does brilliantly while still reigning him in from doing stupid shit that pisses me off. 4.5 hours and I already have a better feel for the primary, secondary, and even the tertiary characters than I did after 13ish hours of series 5 Who. I question their choice of Moriarty and the odd take on the queer subtext. But even then, Moriarty was easier to grasp as a character than Amy Pond, whom I still don't have a handle on. I thought I had her, and then she wanted to snog the Doctor silly in Rory's presence after having re-lived her life with her family intact and the abandonment issues gone.
