It’s not just Nine. I’m not an old-school fan, but I’ve seen a little bit of the original series, and so far Ten is my least favorite Doctor. It’s actually easier for me to see Eight and Nine as the same person than it is Nine and Ten. (I do see Ten as the Doctor. It’s just that sometimes his Doctorishness gets buried under the crazy.)
I tried not to bring up Nine/Rose. I think that’s something we’re going to have to agree to disagree on. As I’ve said before, my take on season two was almost the exact opposite of yours. (And considering that Nine’s character arc ended with him embracing Rose, and Ten’s ended with him abandoning her, I don’t think I’m at all likely to change my mind.)
I’m a little confused about one thing, though. Why do you care about RTD’s story? I mean, it’s done. We know what story he would’ve told, because he told it. And considering how much I hated his story, I would much rather read yours.
