Space Analyst Explains Sky Spiral...and Russia has come forward...after much denial and claimed that, oh, yes, the weird grasping at straws theory is correct.

I don't hold with most of the UFO sightings being down to aliens among us. I know we have our fair share of tin pie plates and weather ballons and jets seen from an angle. But I think I believe more in aliens than in some of the scientific explanations we hear. This sort of explanation happened after the big sighting in Phoenix, too. After a lot of video flooded YouTube, military leaders crawled out of their burrows a day later to blink at the uproar and then declare it to be some lame skydiving formation. Nobody in Phoenix who had witnessed the big ship overhead could believe they were simply seeing skydivers in formation. Nobody who witnessed this event thought it was a rocket, even after being told to think that by the media. For one thing...it lasted 10-12 minutes. Rockets tend to go wrong in a few seconds. But, by all means, let's listen to the guy who knows...

While we are wondering why he didn't bring some video evidence to support his claims, let's hear from an eyewitness. “I LIVE there, and believe me that was NOT A ROCKET. It stood still in the friggen air for multiple secounds and slooowly rotated, I thought my litle brother was out in the yard playing with a flashlight or something due to the bright light, but.... I was wrong.”

Let's see if you agree with the guy who thinks about space for a living. Here is some video of a spinning missile.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icJOjKwn_7Y

Here is the Trident Launch I believe he means. Totally the same, don't you think? BWAHAHA!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z-3fjg4dYY&feature=related

Here is another Trident Launch going wrong...maybe if there was no obvious contrail I might think this was something odd crashing.

Okay...now...make up your own mind with a few angles on the event. Pay particular attention to that middle part of the middle video and that beam that comes out near the end and does weird things to the ground. Few people noted that because the sky show was so interesting. But what looks like a contrail coming up to the thing is actually an after effect...and again...there is no sign of a missile in any of this. So, were the Russians lying last night, because they did such a nasty act of war so close to the US president...or are they lying now to keep the public from getting interested in something that science can't currently explain?

Got to love the speculation.

Whoa, I hadn't heard about that; that's really cool!

Isn't it obvious it's the Time Vortex leaking through? Bad Wolf Bay IS in Norway That is the lamest rocket display I have ever seen, if it is a rocket. But it keeps spinning and spinning and spinning... So pretty!

I shall now share this with my friends, thanks! =D

Now that's a very personal question to ask the Norwegians. I do think a few people are buying the "It's a missile in space" line now. You left-brainers are so cute.

This is my feeling, Oot! I don't think that is a spacecraft of any sort. And not only would Russia be insane to launch a missile over where the US President is about to make a bold declaration about war, but, no radar picked up the launch. So...we have a stealth missile...misfired...but reaching the atmosphere where it gave a one in a million display...and then...uhm...created a tornado of some kind. Psshh! As you so wisely put it.

I do think a time vortex or dimension rift is a better explanation than Russian stealth missile that got away from them and then malfunctioned only after reaching space. But that's just me. I think this had people so worried...they called around and came up with a story. Because a Russian Missile launch over our President...? That would cause some saber rattling if this were not a cover-up.

Perhaps it was the Magratheans; Slartibartfast checking up on his fjords!

A Hitchhiker Reference. And, of course, I do not need to follow your link to know who Slartibartfast is. Do you consider me some kind of illiterate?

Hee!

My favorite bit is about the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal...whom I am sure you remember. He thought that if you couldn't see him, he couldn't see you. So he always had to come upon prey unexpectedly. He couldn't hide and leap out on you.

Yes, of course! Thus giving us one more use for our towel!

[Are there still people who celebrate/observe Towel Day? (May 25th) It sort of fell off my radar in recent years. Seems that I'm more apt to recall Talk Like a Pirate Day. (Sept 19).]

I think that my most fave character was the Dish of the Day from the TV series. Other than for, in effect, promoting vegetarianism by exposing our cultural hypocrism, well, Who knows why!

Another fave was Hotblack Desiato ...who was famously "spending the year dead for tax purposes". Seems like I do that most years.

[Naturally the link wasn't for you to follow, it was to save you a bunch of Q&A explanation posts! Silly! :pats fondly:]

I suspected as much...that you were just being courteous by posting a link. Accepts that I should never have had a moment's doubt about your motives. And I must confess that I did not actually watch the TV series or listen to the radio broadcasts.

Dish of the Day...if it is the cow that comes to your table to explain which part of it is juiciest and lives to be eaten...is also in one of the books. Resturant at the End of the Universe, I believe. But I will also confess I do not know if that IS the cow or not, having failed to see the TV series.

I did see the movie...and I do remember Talk Like a Pirate Day...every third year or so...but I never celebrated Towel Day.
