Well...a bit of a spoiler...more of a Humperdinck based on the episode title...but first...

What did I tell you about those ratings numbers?

Who remembers?

Down I said. Down because Easter is not Christmas.

And definitely...there is that...but also there is the subtle lack of satisfaction. The story didn't end properly and viewers are getting the message that the Doctor has feet of clay. He's not the hero they thought he was. He ran away from Rose. He ruined Donna's life. He stole Ten 2's body. He...he's sort of shallow. He's let down everyone who ever cared about him. And then he tries to act like THEY abandoned him.

You can't blame people for thinking..."Maybe we can just skip this one and come back after the regeneration."

Ratings over night...8.7

Way down from Rose numbers.

And under the cut we go...

So, some of those pesky anagram people have pointed out that The Waters of Mars is an anagram for War of the Master.

Don't you just hate those wordy-wordsmiths that make word games out of ordinary words?

People like me...for example...who recently told you that the name Naismith means NOT SMITH...and would be an excellent pseudonym for either the Master or Ten 2. But it would be better for the Master...since the motto of the Naismith clan is...

"Not by science but by war!"

And...well...if you were the sort of wordy-wordsmith that would call a Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood...then you might just know that motto.

We really could use the Master back for the Humperdinck to be clear as a ringing crystal bell to the fandom at large...no old school busy body is going to stand up and say the Master isn't the Master...even if he does have a half-human body now. Which means...they also can't say "BOO!" about Ten 2 becoming our regular Doctor. He came out of the regeneration whole and alive...he's Eleven. He needs the ability to regenerate. He's just trapped in Ten's old body...FREE HIM, RTD! Set our Eleven free...and let Ten take his old body to Rose for a well deserved rest.

If only....

RTD used his cleverness like you use yours then we'd be completely happy....

I haven't written RTD off, yet...

...he is showing that the decisions the Doctor made continue to resonate. You can't tie this all to Donna without equally envoking Rose. Donna fans might want to do that...but the loss of Rose let him do what he did to Donna. Rose would have stopped him. As Donna said to start with..."You need someone to stop you."

Martha could not. And in the end, Donna could not. Rose was taken completely off guard...but she did cause him to hesitate a bit...only the kiss lost him. But I seriously doubt she's living the happy with Ten 2.

...I don't think "rest" is what Rose has in mind for Ten (even when she's had Ten2)... :P

Oh...he will rest...

...eventually. She might have to wear him out first...but he will rest.

What can I say? The Doctor needs therapy. He's like a chick I know. She complains that she's lonely and that she can't find the right guy. Then the right ones come along and she shoos them away. Jerks pay her no mind and she's in love. Yet she's so lonely and noone wants her blah, blah, blah. The Doctor had Rose, she was perfect for him in everyway, but he shoos her off and now sits on his poor me stool. People get tired off it. I'm not surprised the ratings are low.

I will say that the one who knocks 4 times is probably ten 2. Either that or Davros or the Master. I bought my oats, I want my pony.

Yeah...you can't be carrying oats everywhere...

...and I can't be using my shovel on all this manure forever. We both need a pony pretty darned quick.

And yes, the Doctor had Rose and she was perfect for him. But I think what went wrong started in the basement with Davros...and just kept building. I think that the Doctor ended up so very down on himself because all of his "children of time" were doing things he wouldn't do. Rose cheered for Martha's threat. Martha and Sarah Jane and Jack and Mickey threatened. Ten 2 and Donna came bursting out of the TARDIS guns blazing.

I think maybe Ten's god complex tipped over and started working against him during the ribbing that Davros gave him. About how he, Ten, was the dark lord. You will notice that in the scenes with Donna and with Christina...we have the Doctor filmed from a low show that gives him this brooding shadowed look. And in this light...he tells the people NO! This low shot...is a Power Shot...used by directors to show a person is playing dice with fate...playing God and not in a wholesome, everyone is going to heaven sort of way...but in a I am your lord and master way.

who thinks everyone has a friend like that...and even if we love them...they get tiresome. It is wrong to see the Doctor in that sort of light...but I don't think people will be able to help drawing that conclusion...as he has done all this to himself.

Well since
