Well, Rose did it to get back to him... because the Doctor was the only one who could stop a multiverse cataclysm. And the travel was rendered both safe and necessary due to said cataclysm. I figured he was just being cheeky by pretending it was just to get him back. XD
But I agree about the teleporter, though I think the real reason he keeps turning that off is so things aren't too easy on Torchwood. And the general idea of Rose getting special consideration is very true, the exception being that not even she gets to choose her own fate if Doctor knows best. :-\
Aye, "uneasy" is one way to describe the look Rose gives 10.2 at the end there.
