So, I've watched the "Night of the Doctor" pre-show. And first, allow me to say...Paul! PAUL! SIGH! Oh, Eight! How I wish you had more canon!

Also, allow me to say that it was all Moff...creating things that he shoves into the canon. Rewriting history to suit his own ego. He wants to make it all about him, rather than, say...knowing the canon and honoring it for the rest of us.

But, as my SO said, this is what you can expect from a commercial success. Doctor Who has become a commercial entity. So...I expect that we will see many things that will make excellent toys for Christmas in today's episode.

Will we also have a coherent story? Or even a non-offensive one? I don't know. It would be a great day if we did. Maybe the Doctor's amazing mojo can influence this one global event. Here's to it not sucking!

In other news. I joined LJ on November 23, 2002. So, this is my 11th Anniversary on LJ. Maybe I could get a nice Anniversary Present from the Eleventh Doctor.

Yes! Yay! And it was an okay show, too. For an anniversary "special" episode.

Happy LJ Anniversary!

I have no bloody clue how I feel about Day of the Doctor. I didn't hate it, but the things I hated about it, I hate insanely much, and the things I love, I want to cuddle forever.

I think I second this. Have watched it twice now. I both cherish it and shake my head at it. But if you get the chance, watch Peter Davison's Five(ish)Doctors Reboot. Might put a smile on your faces. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01m3kfy Or make you laugh till you cry.

Already did a few hours ago. I think I liked it better than the "official" anniversary episode!

I watched it and I agree with FindingNemo and Wickedgillie. Also you should definitely watch The Five(ish) Doctors because that made me smile.

The basic rule of things is that Moff isn't really very clever at all. Children figured out his "extra" Doctor thing...I was so hoping he wouldn't go there...but he did. He hand waved extra lives. Just like that. And he doesn't know enough to realize that he could have rewritten time entirely and had Rose and Ten there together at the end...without the Doctor knowing anything had changed. And she would still be the Bad Wolf in the universe we had. I truly hate when non-clever people act like they are doing something intelligent.

But, like you...I didn't hate much of it. I actually enjoyed it. I just felt like Moff is so not the person who should be running this show. But...then...I've always felt that. LOL

When I look at how beautifully Gatiss wrote An Adventure in Time and Space, I can't help but think that we could have actually had nice things.

Happy Anniversary to you!

I've seen the Special, but I won't post about it here until you've seen it (because you hate Spoilers).

I have seen. It was commercial and non-offensive. I could have used a little more offense. But Moff just isn't very clever. He could have rewritten time and still had Bad Wolf Rose.

Seriously, what sort of moron rewrites time and doesn't change anything? Well, someone who wants, like Moff to have his history as it stands and also play with the future. But it was just nonsensical really. I so wanted Rose to pop out of Ten's Tardis...being all...traveling with Ten again. And the Doctor's to be slightly clueless. And the true Nine to go..."Don't I know you?"

Happy Anniversary Rae!

Watch it - you know you will snap and watch it eventually. So watch now, before you are spoiled to buggery.

Yours,

Kes

Watched it. Made me feel many layers of further contempt for Moff. But, didn't hate it. It was pretty enjoyable. And he did a good job with Ten (er Eleven). New Nine wasn't as fleshed out as I would have liked him to be. But then, Moff is a bit rubbish with the Doctor. Telling us his eyes look younger. Yes, thank you!
